Audio issues with high 48/96kHz discretization

TLDR: discretization over 44.1kHz causes audio quality issues.

I have Windows 10 x64, Audient iD4 and AKG K371 setup.

For the beta I started playing with my sound options set like this: 24bit, 48kHz and was negatively amused how bad the handguns sound, literally like airsoft. I tried different mixes and settings w/o much difference.

Finally i selected the lowest discretization of 24bit 44.1kHz for my output device and it finally changed the sound to the better, now at least the shotguns have a punch when shooting.
