Re: DirectX Crash when opening Loadouts tab (consistent 100%)
Hi,
I’m experiencing consistent crashes when launching the Battlefield 6 beta. The game freezes during the shader compilation screen (right at the beginning), and shortly after, it crashes to desktop or forces a PC restart. Here’s a breakdown of my setup and the issue:
🔧 My system:
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 (Driver version: [insert current version, e.g., 556.12])
- CPU: Intel Core i9-14900KF
- RAM: [insert e.g. 32GB DDR5 @ 6000MHz]
- Motherboard: [insert brand/model]
- OS: Windows 11 Pro (22H2, fully updated)
- DirectX Version: 12 (default for the game)
- Monitor: [e.g. 1440p 165Hz, G-Sync ON]
🛑 The problem:
- The game crashes while “Compiling Shaders…”
- Sometimes I get a DirectX error message box.
- Other times the entire PC freezes and restarts.
- Changing settings (windowed/fullscreen, lowering graphics) didn’t help.
- Running the game with -dx11 allows me to get into the menu – but performance and visuals are worse, and this is clearly just a workaround.
📋 Error (example):
DirectX function “GetDeviceRemovedReason()” failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG
GPU: “NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080”
Driver: [insert driver version]
This error is usually caused by the graphics driver crashing; try updating your drivers or checking for overheating.
