Got the same issue, even today, really hoping they can fix it, it does work on EA, but i prefer steam over it.
Edit: So i read all the comments, ill try all the fixes and tell if it works, right now reinstalling the game
Last Edit: i did what Skatesteak said and Bartrader and it worked, thanks guys :D - Tav013 days agoRising Newcomer

If you have a USB storage drive, unplug it. Sounds dumb but it fixed it for me

EA_Leeuw Hey, any update on this?

For anyone still stuck on this and is on steam, the issue is running both the game and the anti-cheat software as admin. That is it.

So I managed to replicate this error again, and it turns out it was happening whenever I had a USB stick or drive plugged in using plug-and-play. I’m guessing the anti-cheat is the one freaking out about it.

Bingouse Hey there! Unfortunately, no. It might be worth trying to see if you're having the same issue during the second weekend of the beta.

My game had only been working via the EA App but not via Steam at all.
Troubleshooting:
I tried changing DNS to public, restarting PC (multiple times), unlinked Steam account to Origin Account, allowed the game through the firewall manually, verified Steam files.
None of the above worked.
Fix (For Me):
I followed someones suggestion to remove any USB's.
Pulled out the USB and tried to launch the game (I know you can't connect to any sessions but thought I'd try).
Game launched successfully, finally asked me to allow it within the firewall via game client and steam overlay popped up and made me login to EA.
After all the above worked, it successfully connected me to the servers and I could see the main game screen. The same way I would launch it through the EA App. Not sure if the 3.1GB update to the game had a fix inside it but odd timing.
