My Steam account is linked to my EA account, but when I launch the Battlefield 6 Open Beta on Steam, it does not use my linked EA account and instead acts like a separate account. My Steam and EA emails are different, but the accounts are linked correctly as shown in my EA Connections.
Battlefield 2042 works fine on both Steam and EA App, but the BF6 Open Beta does not

I got the exact same message. Is there a fix to this problem?
update: it appears you can have multiple steam accounts on the same email-adress. So I just had to find the right Steam account to log in and it worked.
I ended up using the ea app and that worked fine for me.... Seems i'll just buy the game there when it launched and i won't have to go through steam
I thought this was an issue, as I log on to the EA app and it shows my EA name, and then BF6 is the first game ever that has used my steam name. I thought Steam made its own EA account for me which I did not want, but every time I checked, EA was linked to my steam name. Turns out, they are both the same and my progress has saved from Xbox and the EA app upon booting it up on steam just now. It still shows my Steam name (other EA games I've bought on steam don't do that, but they all also require the EA app to boot so that could be why) and none of my friends from other devices show up, but it is the same account. I play with my wife, and on steam my wife is not my friend as she is on Xbox, so I have to add her now again (EA on PC auto links my Xbox friends), but PROGRESS DID SAVE!!! You will just be playing using your steam name, and if you play through EA app you are using your EA name, it's all the same.
Take a look at my above comment, it's all the same account thankfully.
