EA Please help me. I will provide log files or anything needed to debug / analyze this.
Potentially the most frustrating PC/Gaming experience I and many other have ever experienced.
Please read what I have tried and what I was told as well as the hardware im running and offer support if possible. The crash goes > Splash Screen shows for 20sec, EAAnticheat launcher launches black window for 10-15sec, BF icon appears in top left, Game closes and EA App popup. No error.
I have confirmed that my hardware meets requirements, tried to launch on Steam and EA App.
HARDWARE
32gb DDR5 ram -xmp disabled
AMD Ryzen 7 7800x3d 8-core
Nvidia RTX 3070ti - driver 580.97 (aug 12)
SSD C: drive with all EA installs
OS Win10 home
I HAVE TRIED
Set EAA, EA App, Steam, BF6.exe to admin in properties, TPM 2.0 enabled, Secure Boot Enabled, CSM disabled, UEFI enabled, App EAA Game on same Drive, updated Nvidia Driver with DDU clean, re-installed windows (tried on 11 and 10), repaired game, app, and javelin anticheat. Tried -dx11 and -dx12 launch commands, disabled all programs at startup, and disabled all overlays. Renamed Battlefield settings folder in docs, tried to run on local admin windows user, viewed event logs and confirmed EAA unpacks successfully. Windows is updated, DX is updated, MOBO firmware is updated, unneccessary usb's unplugged, set EAA EA App and BF6.exe to use GPU specifically. XMP dissabled. Allowed Firewall access to all apps needed. Turned off Bottom-up + Mandatory ASLR and DEP. Booting game offline. Tried to boot from two different EA App profiles.
I am sure there are more things I tried since last weekend as well :(
I waited in a 3 hour chat queue for support to tell me to try these things I have already found in the forums:
The issue you are experiencing with Battlefield 6 (BF6) launching to a black window after the EA anti-cheat splash screen and then crashing silently is a known problem reported by multiple users. Despite having TPM 2.0, UEFI, Secure Boot enabled, updated drivers, and running as admin, this black screen crash can occur with no visible error, and logs might only show the anti-cheat unpacking properly.
Here are well-established fixes and troubleshooting steps that have helped resolve this issue for many players:
1. Repair or Reinstall EA Anti-Cheat:Navigate to the BF6 game folder (via EA App or Steam: right-click the game > Manage > Browse Local Files).
Go to the EAAntiCheat folder and run the EAAntiCheat.Installer.
Choose the Repair option and point it to the BF6 installation folder.
Once repaired, relaunch the game.
2. Run Game and Anti-Cheat as Administrator:
In the BF6 folder, right-click the BF6 event executable and the EA Anti-Cheat launcher executable.
Go to Properties > Compatibility tab and check "Run this program as an administrator."
Apply this setting for both executables.
12:12 PM
3. Update and Perform Clean Install of Graphics Drivers:
Uninstall existing GPU drivers using a utility like DDU.
Install the latest drivers from the GPU manufacturer’s official site (NVIDIA or AMD).
Also update chipset drivers from your motherboard manufacturer's website.
4. Disable Conflicting Software and Overlays:
Close or uninstall third-party overlays or software that might conflict, including Discord overlay, GeForce Experience overlay, Razer Synapse, Corsair iCUE, VPNs, and other anti-cheat tools (e.g., Riot Vanguard, Faceit Anti Cheat).
Disable or uninstall any suspicious or unnecessary device drivers related to SCSI, Daemon tools, or USB controllers.
5. BIOS and System Settings:
Confirm Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 are enabled properly.
Update your motherboard BIOS if there is a newer version.
Disable Compatibility Support Module (CSM) in BIOS if enabled.
6. Windows and Visual Dependencies:
Make sure Windows is fully updated.
Install or repair Visual C++ Redistributables.
Disable full-screen optimization in the game’s executable Properties.
7. Verify Game Files:
Use Steam or EA App to verify the integrity of Battlefield 6 game files to check for corrupted or missing files.
8. Create a New Local User and Test:
Sometimes corrupted user profiles cause issues. Create a new Windows local user account and try launching the game from there.
9. Check Event Viewer Logs:
Although no error is shown on-screen, reviewing Windows Event Viewer logs under Application and System can offer clues. Errors related to EA Anti-Cheat service or driver loading failures are common.
10. Additional Community Tips:
Temporarily disable integrated graphics if using discrete GPU.Try launch options like -d3d11, -dx11, or -dx12.
Rename or backup the Battlefield 6 Settings folder in Documents (note this removes save progress).
Disconnect unnecessary USB devices to avoid conflicts.

Hi I figured out the solution to this after having it myself, the crash is caused by EA Anticheat. I posted the fix elsewhere but it seems to have been burried.
What you need to do is go to https://help.ea.com/en/articles/platforms/pc-ea-anticheat/
Download the EA Anticheat Installer
Right click, run it as administrator
**DO NOT SELECT ANY GAME FROM THE DROP DOWN MENU**
Simply click the UNINSTALL ALL button
Let it run then close it.
Run the game from your chosen launcher (EA or Steam)
It will now trigger a script to do a fresh install of javelin & with updated files & should solve the problem.

Hey thank you I will try again, but have already done this and deleted old anticheat as well.
- Mahim_Shahriar225 days agoRising Novice
Hey if you manage to find a solution please post it here. I've also tried literally everything but nothing seems to be working. I even played like 10 hours in the first beta weekend from the 7th till 10th but this time around the game will just not launch. I don't know what even is causing this. I have tried everything but nothing is working.

There is a fix I think that was posted somewhere else. I have tried it and I have now played like 5 rounds without crashing so perhaps you should try it out.
Search in windows for Exploit ProtectionAdd program bf6event.exe
Mandatory ASLR
Click Override system settings
OFF
restart BF6

this is one of the simple fix's suggested and tried on week one. No luck still.

go to windows security, click device security, under Security Processor, click security processor details.
if it says "Attestation: Not ready, Storage: Ready" then your processor might not be able to meet EAAC's security standards. But, you have a Ryzen 7, so I assume if it says "attestation not ready" then you might be able to troubleshoot/fix it in bios or by clearing your TPM.
attestation is just the anti cheat checking your processor to make sure you haven't tampered with hardware/firmware and that your boot is truly secure.
I spent like 6 hours also doing all those fixes you mentioned just to figure this out, my processor is literally just not compatable with javelin anticheat :/
- vanderjigs6 days agoRising Novice
I saw your solution previously and checked I see attestation ready

Hi, when the game crashes, do you see any errors in the Event Viewer under the Application logs? Also, have you tried installing an older GPU driver to see if that helps?
- vanderjigs6 days agoRising Novice
Hey, I have tried to two most recent Nvidia drivers, as the game made me updated to latest when I first tried to launch before first weekend.
In Event Viewer - I have not recieved an error or critical log for the last 10 or so attempts, but earlier today I gotFaulting application name: EADesktop.exe, version: 13.531.0.6044, time stamp: 0x689a3025

You've done a lot of top notch trouble shooting but have you verified your OS files with system file checker (I understand that you reinstalled the OS)? If not run windows update and if it updates restart the PC. After reboot launch a command prompt as an administrator and type "sfc /scannow" (without the quotes) and let it check the OS. If it comes back with errors I'd also then run in the same command prompt window "Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth" (without the quotes). These generally clear up a lot of issues for me.

My game opens and then crashes without any warning, right before it starts. It worked the first weekend. Now, I haven't been able to play it since this morning. It doesn't say anything, just comes and goes right away.

I'm having this same issue since Open Beta release. Have tried all fixes noted above. Please EA, fix this.
- Afri_925 days agoSeasoned Newcomer
If you are running the game with an Nvidia Graphic Card, go to the Nvidia Settings Hub and Disable Smooth Motion (Fluid Motion) for BF6, that should fix the problem. 😊
Edit: In case this helps anyone else, please let me know.

No wayyy man you're goated. I am actually so pissed, been troubleshooting since the last two days and hours of scouring the net later this random fix is what did it for me. Just to be clear this is what fixed the issue for me:
For RTX 4000 series users like me if you're running the latest driver, go to Nvidia App -> Graphics -> Global Settings -> Smooth Motion -> turn it off.
I am not sure if this option exists for older gen but I do know that it should be there for 4000 series user only if you're running recent drivers (the latest one or the one before that) and for 5000 series users the option should be there regardless of driver version. I am not sure but I think it's a setting that applies frame generation to games that don't support it. Anyways, I disabled it and the game launches perfectly.
It's worth checking if you're using an Nvidia card.
Also, thanks again to Afri_92 for the solution. - xl_MART_lx5 days agoSeasoned Newcomer
tried this and did not work for me. As soon as I get past the splash screen, I see the black window pop up for a few seconds. Hope is still lost
- ryogto4 days agoRising Newcomer
This is the solution for me, RTX 4080. Tried all sorts of reinstalling and settings changes/adminstrator stuff with no success. Turned off this Smooth Motion setting in the Nvidia app for BF6 and it launched first try.

My **bleep** pc crashed the hole day when starting bf6, i took gpu and ram out and placed it back (ofc) and somehow that fixed it.
- pewdeki5 days agoRising Newcomer
I've been having the same issue and I've noticed that it keeps saying that I'm missing 3 things from my files when I do an integrity check on steam, and it keeps restoring them and then they also keep disappearing. I dont understand it and I also dont know which files are somehow disappearing
- HOSENSCHRANK5 days agoNew Novice
same thing happening to me
- Mahim_Shahriar224 days agoRising Novice
I had this same issue where it failed to validate 3 files and downloaded like 32mbs worth each time, then when I started the game it'd crash and then fail to validate those 3 files once again. From what I'm seeing I think the cause for this error isn't the same for everyone. For me turning off smooth motion in Nvidia app fixed it. Maybe, you can try doing that if not there might be something else that's causing it.

Same Problem. I was able to play ONLY one match (Conquest, NY), then Windows updated to 24H2 and now, silent crash to launcher. EA Javelin runs, then bf6.exe starts for about a second (according to Task Manager), then silent crash back to the launcher. I have tried just about everything. I am kicking myself for allowing the update restart, I could be playing right now and for the rest of the day. :( I even removed and reinstalled BF6. I am out of ideas.
