Consistent BSOD Shortly After Match Start (eaanticheat.sys 0xA)
Issue Summary:
Since joining the Battlefield 6 Beta, my system crashes consistently 5–15 seconds after entering a match. The crash is a full system reboot caused by a BSOD with the bugcheck IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (0xA) pointing directly to the EA Anti-Cheat kernel driver (eaanticheat.sys).
Reproduction Steps:
Launch Battlefield 6 Beta through the EA App. Join any match. Within about 5–15 seconds of spawning in, the game freezes briefly, then the system BSODs and reboots. This happens every single time.
Environment Details:
OS: Windows 11 Pro 23H2 (Build 26100)
CPU: Intel Core i9-14900KF
GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4080 (clean driver install via DDU, latest Game Ready driver)
Motherboard: MSI PRO Z690-A WiFi (BIOS A.M1 – 2025-05-19)
RAM: 64 GB DDR5
Storage: NVMe SSD
Secure Boot: Enabled
Virtualization-Based Security (VBS): Disabled
Hyper-V: Disabled
Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling (HAGS): Off
All overlays and monitoring tools disabled (Discord, Steam overlay, Afterburner, RTSS, HWiNFO low-level mode, RGB control software)
Troubleshooting Already Tried: Disabled Hyper-V, VBS, Memory Integrity, Credential Guard. Removed all potential kernel-level conflicts. DDU’d and reinstalled NVIDIA driver (latest GRD, no GeForce Experience). Ran Battlefield 6 Beta with Frame Generation OFF, Reflex OFF, FPS capped below refresh rate. Repaired/reinstalled EA Anti-Cheat. Updated chipset, LAN, audio, Intel ME drivers, and BIOS.
Tested completely at stock settings (no CPU/GPU overclock or XMP).
Crash Details from WinDbg: Bugcheck: 0xA (IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL) Probably caused by: eaanticheat.sys (eaanticheat+0x53B854)
Process Name: System
Request: Please investigate the EA Anti-Cheat kernel driver (eaanticheat.sys) for invalid memory access at elevated IRQL in Battlefield 6 Beta. This issue is fully reproducible under clean, stock system conditions and prevents participation in the beta. I can provide full memory dumps or additional logs to EA engineers if needed.
