tickdubist not sure if you figured it out yet, but I had this same issue. I eventually solved it by:
- Going into Device Manager and removing an old driver leftover from Daemon Tools under the >Storage Controllers section
- Going to C:\Program Files\ReWASD and using the ReWASD uninstaller to remove everything
- Restarting PC and updating my GPU driver
I had used the Windows "add or remove programs" feature to uninstall ReWASD originally, but it obviously did not remove any other files other than the application itself.
Another poster on the forum used Reg Edit to find the leftover files. https://forums.ea.com/discussions/battlefield-2042-technical-issues-en/security-violation-discsoftltd/12176682/replies/12178213
Once the files were located I navigated to the location in Windows Explorer and manually removed them (in this case, the files were the ReWASD folder and all its contents, including the uninstaller which I used).
