Also not a fan of the auto zoom for the minimap, wish there was a way to disable it entirely.
Also, there is no zoom keybind for the minimap that I can find.
There is a setting, sort of, like disposalist said. It was very weirdly placed, i think below in the "system" settings. This is where you can make the default distances for the auto-map. Putting alll those sliders to max made it workable for me.
Im certain this is just a UI mistake and we will get the option to disable auto-map and have our own zoom minimap key again, but still
