Mouse input lag (floaty mouse)

There is a constant mouse input lag that makes the mouse feel floaty. No matter what I tweak in settings it's there. I can get it to improve by removing all DLSS, turning off vsync, closing all overlays (except EA overlay in the EA app), closing mouse software programs (like ghub etc). I get a stable 130-150fps in 1440p with my 7800x3d and 4070ti, but the mouse input lag is so bad even after improvements that i get seasick and cant play for more than two hours. Even that is difficult. This issue existed in battlefield 2042 too and was never fixed. It didnt exist in battlefield 5, so I assume some broken code has been imported from BF2042.

I have tried everything I can think of. When I play I dont have anything else running. I have done all the windows 11 tweaks, but I know this is not windows related. It's an issue exclusive to 2042 and BF6. No other games. I've tried lowering polling rates on the mouse etc, without it helping. Ive tried fullscreen vs borderless. Literally every possible setting combination. No luck. So, it's a bug.

Please fix it before release or a lot of people wont be able to play. It seems it affects high end systems and low end systems, but not all systems. I really hope this issue isn't ignored like it was in 2042.

Thanks for an otherwise awesome game!

  • This is exactly what I am experiencing too, I'm on an AMD card but it seems like I've tried everything. This issue is really frustrating, I hope they can fix this.

  • Same here... I have a cheap Logitech mouse, 800 DPI (125 Hz polling rate). I tried everything you did to fix it, but the problem still persists. It feels like there’s a smoothing filter on my mouse. If you try to spin your mouse as fast as you can, you start noticing that the game stops registering the movement, and the camera doesn’t spin anymore. I was so hyped for the game, but now I’m frustrated that I can’t aim properly like in BF4/BF1. I’ve ordered a new Razer mouse, 16,000 DPI and 1 kHz polling rate, to see if that fixes it for me

    setup:
    i7 14700kf - 48GB DDR5 7000mts RAM - RTX 4070

If you find a fix please let me know, to me it feels like smoothing too. It makes it impossible to use snipers as it’s all about precision, it feels horrible. If I run about with an assault rifle and focus in I can kind of ignore it but it’s still present. I don’t know how nobody else is talking about. I experienced the same issue in Battlefield 2042 as well unlike previous titles. Ive played that on multiple pc’s as well, all present. Sorry for the ramble, cheers.

Maybe I discovered something. I think it’s related to this thing here

I’ve disabled NVIDIA Frame Generation, Future Frame Rendering, and G-Sync and tried to play. Now my camera jitters like crazy when I spin around, but I noticed there’s no “smoothing” on my aim anymore. Maybe the problem is specifically tied to these technologies, and if they manage to fix either the jittering issue or the smoothing caused by the input lag from these features, it could solve the problem.
