PC bricked itself after launching Battlefield 6.

After launching Battlefield 6, my computer had turned off and won't display anything on the monitor anymore. After taking it to a computer repair shop. I got £250 for a new motherboard and replacement as this one had essentially bricked itself. After reading online about this it's very possible that this happened as I had to enter BIOS to launch the game and turn secure boot on which ultimately killed my computer. My question is will I get any sort of compensation from EA as this generally isn't my fault however am having to pay £250 to use my computer again, just from attempting to play their game.

  • Sorry to hear about your PC! Unfortunately, EA usually isn’t responsible for hardware issues caused by BIOS changes like Secure Boot. It’s unlikely you’ll get compensation, but contacting their support can’t hurt. Meanwhile, working with a trusted computer repair service like Geek Onsite to keep your system stable is a good idea. Hope you’re back gaming soon!

bricking thousands of PCs, no word of warning that it could happen, all for anti cheat reasons when there’s still hundreds of thousands of cheaters in the beta anyway… thanks for ruining my PC EA. You guys have an absolutely garbage support team and infrastructure as well so there’s no way to get in direct contact with anyone. I hope the class action lawsuit hurts big time.
