PC Performance drops dramatically
I think the title is self explanatory.
Whenever I play the Battlefield 6 Open beta I get SERIOUS FPS and performance drops.
Those always happen between few seconds. At first I thought it was just server issues but I soon realized that it's my whole PC being slowed down because of it.
And I have quiet good PC, when the frames don't drop the game runs smoothly. I have everything set to performance mode so it should run like that all the time but it doesn't.
here are my specs.
CPU: Ryzen 9 5950x 16-Core Processor
GPU: RTX 3070 Ti (Temp while playing is 62 Degrees Celsius)
RAM: 32.0 GB
MB: ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING
PSU: 800w
(Temp while playing is around 62 Degrees Celsius for both GPU and CPU, and those never hit 100%
while playing it jumps from 80% when the game runs smooth to 13% when it decides to **bleep** itself)
The BF6 Open beta is the only game where I have this issue and I have no idea what can be the cause.
I use played Cyberpunk 2077 on ultra with ray tracing on and it didn't happen, and that was when it went up to 100%.
I understand that it's beta so there is issues so I want to highlight this issue if anyone else has simmilar problem.
For any help, thank you in advance.
Hi everyone,
I had the same problem as you and I figured out how to solve it.
First, create a file with Notepad called "user.cfg".
Copy this inside and replace the 6 and 12 with your processor's specifications:
Thread.ProcessorCount 6
Thread.MaxProcessorCount 6
Thread.MinFreeProcessorCount 0
Thread.JobThreadPriority 0
GstRender.Thread.MaxProcessorCount 12If you're not familiar with this, go into the game and enable the FPS indicator. There will be a green line in the top left corner with the processor's specification like for example for me:
CPU Core: 12 Job threads: 6Place this file in the game folder.
If you're on EA, you can enable the in-game overlay.
If performance isn't good, and your graphics card uses Nvidia, go back to driver version 577.
Edit: Freeing up space on the disk where Windows is installed for some people stabilizes the frame rate.
