Re: BF6 Beta Crash Causing Xbox Series to Shut Down

Every second game, I'm crashing. The game completely freezes and I'm sent back to the Xbox home screen.

I've found hundreds of people having the same issue, but cannot find a fix.

It seems to be really inconsistent on each individual Xbox.

I play on Series S, no crashes.

My friend plays on Series X, no crashes.

My other friend plays on Series X as well, only had one single crash.

Lots of others are having regular crashes, and it just doesn't seem to make sense.

I would usually be like "oh check ventilation and stuff" but after having crashes every few minutes in a different game, while nobody else seems to, I believe it's just something with the Xbox itself instead of the game.

I don't believe it is the xbox. I don't crash on any other game and I sometimes play 12-18 hour sessions with no problems. It's only this game and Ive found a plethora of others who are having the same issue. Just because the issue doesn't affect everyone, it doesn't mean its not a game issue.

    It makes the most sense.

Why else would only SOME of the exact same console be affected?

Software is 100% exactly the same on every console, but hardware is not exactly the same on every console.

There's variations during the manufacturing process of hardware.

Different configurations and settings. Different hardware. Different apps installed. Different storage capacities. Game installed in different locations. Different game habits. Different networks. Different network settings. Different connection. Nat types. Almost anything can cause a game to crash. It doesnt mean it's the console.

This is why I strongly believe it is not the console. I'm able to play plenty of other very graphically demanding games with no problems . I'm only experiencing crashing games that are specifically from EA. I had the same problem with Battlefield 2042. The Xbox series X version was crashing exactly like the battlefield 6 beta. What was interesting is I could play the OG Xbox version and it didn't crash. Which shocked because I bought the game and didn't play it for 2 years. Then one day I figured I'd give it a try again and they must have patched it because it started working. Now I regularly play Battlefield 2042 on the Xbox series X version on my series X with no crashes. I had this problem with Madden also. What **bleep**ing sucks is there's nobody at EA that cares. You can't contact anyone nor they respond to any of the comments here. At this point I'm not sure I'm going to spend my money on games from EA anymore because the customer service is just atrocious

So....it's the console, not the software.

That's what I'm leaning towards. Even after a factory reset which installs all the software to default settings the consoles are still crashing. Which only leaves hardware as the possible cause in my opinion.

Microsoft tunes the processor voltage on a per console basis during manufacturing. Meaning the processor inside each console is custom tuned.

The way some Xbox consoles are crashing so hard that the console powers off seems to suggest a voltage issue causing the processor to crash.

If that's the case then Microsoft is to blame for not tuning the processor voltage correctly on some consoles during manufacturing.

Here's a Xbox hardware engineer talking about how the processor voltage on each Xbox console is custom tuned during manufacturing.

    Andrew Roedel, Principal Electrical Engineer at Microsoft wrote;

Actually mentioned, one of the other things that allows us to do it in manufacturing, is to adjust each rail of each console of each SoC, so all the different voltages independently for that particular SoC. So that we can optimize the power on a per console per rail basis, and across different power states, and really deliver the lowest power console possible, still meeting the performance guides.

This is not the case. Alot of other games would be triggering this as well...its the beta

Its the beta. My buddy has a 6 month old series x and is crashing every few minutes in the beta. Mine is a day 1 series x and also crashes every few minutes in the beta. Its weird

How do you know they are aware and are trying to fix?

Yes, they're aware.  No they won't fix it.  The issue is across multiple EA titles.  CFB26 launched two months ago and it's still a problem.  NHL 25 came out last year, it's still a problem.  They wait until we get tired of complaining and trying things and then they move on.

So those titles have the exact same type of crash?. I play EAFC and thats fine. On the other hand Hell Let Loose has the same type of crash for me too. Im leaning more toward hardware issue or at least an Xbox issue.

I can play any game from a publisher not named EA and have no issues at all.

But multiple EA titles won't work.  I'm leaning far more on their being a software issue that is causing problems with hardware.

I can play EAFC with zero issues.  But CFB26, BF6 beta, NHL25 nothing but crashing.

My hope is with BF6.  I feel like if they find the issue for this game, no matter what it ends up being it will be the answer for all the other EA titles with the same problem.

I had access to the pre-alpha of EA Skate on Xbox and the game runs perfectly compared to Battlefield beta
