Re: "Connection Failed" Error 1:85008S:4688822970:0Q

Hello,

I was getting disconnected from the game after 5-10 minutes with these error codes:

  • ERROR CODE 1:85008S:4688822970:0Q
  • ERROR CODE 1:85009S

After some troubleshooting, I found that using an encrypted DNS (e.g., Mullvad DNS) was causing the issue. Switching my DNS settings back to Automatic resolved the problem, and I can now play without errors.

Here’s what I did (for Windows users):

  1. Reset DNS to Automatic:
    • Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi/Ethernet (depending on your connection).
    • Click on your network name.
    • Under "DNS server assignment," click "Edit."
    • Change "Manual" to "Automatic" and save.
  2. Check Secure Boot (optional, but good to verify):
    • Press Win+R, type msinfo32, and hit Enter.
    • Look for "Secure Boot State" and ensure it says "On."

It’s a bit inconvenient to use an unencrypted DNS to play, but this workaround worked for me. If you’re still having issues or have questions, I’ll try my best to respond, though I can’t guarantee quick replies.

Let me know if this fix works for you or if you found other solutions!

Thanks! :3
