Spawn and Sensor Beacon

Not sure this is by design but the Spawn self destructs when the deployer spawns to it.  Fine if squad members use it.

Found on occasions both beacons will go through the act of being deployed but don't.  It also acts as if was used so you have to wait to try again.

That seems to be an intended behavior, according to this article (they will just move it to Assault class for the release). The deployment problem seems to be a bug though, I noticed it too (and reported).

Forgot to add that the Sensor beacon will sometimes deploy on it own without the player clicking the LMB to deploy it.  So if you call it up with what ever key bind you use (x is the default) is would just get placed right at that moment.  Doesn't do it all the time though.

this article  Oh how I see this as a big mistake.   Here is how I see this will play out.  1)  (closed weapons) Spawn Assault, place beacon. Re-deploy as Recon  Option 2 (open weapons) - Spawn Assault with sniper rifle equipped. Place beacon.   So the very thing they are questioning in the article will still happen.  In BF4 Recon could use the carbines which allowed exactly what they say they are trying to accomplish by moving the spawn beacon to assault.  It gains nothing.

This first case is unlikely to happen, because as you are still the beacon owner, it will disappear on the re-deploy and so there is no reason to do that (you can get there as a Recon right from the start, without fiddling with the beacon and re-deployment). The second case is more likely, but I think that the Recon's bonuses to sniper rifles are too good to ignore so it probably won't happen that much in reality. I think this change to give the beacon to the Assault class may work, but let's see... :)

  • Have to find a clear spot and stay put during the animation. It is destroyed if the person who placed it uses it to spawn. I also had issues with the spawn beacon going a cd if you didn't use or pick up one that was already deployed.

I feel like they should give the beacon a radius that covers a smaller area if they give one to assault, and only allies that died inside the radius can use it. I'm pretty sure there is already a cd until a player can use one to respawn again. Then recon can keep their beacon and I am hoping the spec ops signature weapon is an smg and you go full sneaky snake through enemy lines to drop a map-wide use beacon bypassing the sniper kill boxes, the hard to break chokepoint, and those last sector caps where there are 300+m from A to B and hard to get a foothold to push.
