Good, you shouldnt be able to use them. Go play DCS.
I've never heard of anyone that was such a tryhard that they literally use $300 sticks just to spam jet all game until now. Get a life.

Oh, so you want the console players with the only advantage in air?
I do play DCS too, but it's like comparing apples to watermelon.

Anyone on PC can plug in a controller and use it to fly if they want. Most people have one lying around already from their Xbox or Playstation. Controllers are cheap and not excessive or unfair. Using sticks and yolks is excessive and unfair. This is a first person shooter, not a realism milsim.

How is it unfair? Your argument doesn't make any sense at all. What about people with a cheap stick? Is that unfair?

Fair or unfair who cares, hotas is a million times more fun and dcs is nothing like battlefield (most expensive free game I’ve ever played lol).
As for how to bind in game, I dunno. Could possibly try something like joytokey, that’d essentially emulate a regular controller with your hotas.

Yes even a cheap stick is unfair because you're using 3rd party external hardware that is not standard or intended. Its an uneven playing field.

becuase consoles can't use HOTAS at all. Dude, this isn't an eSports game, aircraft are not all that common, and they're pretty easy to shoot down. Maybe you just don't want consoles to have competition in the air....

If you are a gamer that uses a Hotas, Joystick, Flightstick or any variation of the above, please chime in here and let them know we want full implementation on day 1.
Dear Battlefield Team,
We need full flight stick implementation on launch. You have effectively crippled our ability to emulate or remap keys with the launch of Secureboot anti-cheat. Daemon Tools, DS4 windows, or similar programs can not be installed or running when the game boots, which leaves a large part of your player base completely dependent on YOU to implement HOTAS support for the game.
I have played Battlefield from the very beginning, and have always dedicated 75%+ of my time to flying aircraft, whether it's a P51 Mustang in BF1942, F4 Phantom in BFV, F18 Hornet in BF2, Gunship and Transports in BF2142, Helicopters for moving troops in and out of hot spots and everything inbetween, and the NUMBER ONE THING THAT MADE IT WORTH MY TIME WAS FLIGHT STICK SUPPORT. It's immersion on a whole new level, and became quite the addiction back in my 20s and 30s.
Can we please get an official post, or a reply regarding in game HOTAS support, and if/when it will be implemented. In all honesty, as a BF veteran, and being member of one of the oldest, and largest clans on the net, I can assure you, lack of Mappable Hotas Flight controls out of the box is a deal breaker for many that play these games for the vehicles alone, myself Included.
Your attention to this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
ANYONE THAT USES A HOTAS!

Don't forget the F-35 in BF2, I've been playing since BF Vietnam, and I loved it. Hope we get implementation on launch, regardless of what luddites like DarklyDexter say

Sounds like the only joystick you've ever played with was your own. HOTAS support has always been part of Battlefield. PC users BUILT this game, and you Console hoppers are simply visitors in our house. Get Güd or go play something else. The big kids are playing.
Also, one of the best pilots I've ever seen used a DS4 controller, and was **bleep** near unstoppable.
Hotas has a massive learning curve and actually takes skill and days upon days of learning before you are good at it.
Step outside your comfort zone kid go see what the sun feels like, because you sound miserable.
