Weapon mastery level greyed Out but still leveling up

I was trying to use the M4A1 and I've been leveling it up (see screenshot) but the mastery level icon is greyed out and I'm not able to use any of the attachments I should have unlocked being Mastery...

just ran into this as well, on the EMR gun, want to rank that bad boy up to make a sick load out. restarting game now hope it corrects itself once i get through a 100k queue wait lol
