Xbox Game Pass required to play modes in battlefield 6 beta?

I installed Battlefield 6 Open Beta on my xbox one series S, linked my twitch, xbox, and steam on my EA account and watched a streamer playing battle field 6 with drops on to get an early access code...

This is the response from EA.... Looks like it was never meant to be available without gamepass. 

So EA should change their messaging as its clearly not a free open beta available to all
