Battlefield 6 Beta – Week 1 Detailed Feedback from a Long-Time Player
First of all, I want to thank the development team for the opportunity to play the BF6 beta.
I understand it’s still a beta and that things can change, but my experience as a Battlefield player since BF2 on PS2 tells me that most betas only receive balance changes and bug fixes before release — rarely do we see major mechanics or systems added at launch.
This feedback is not hate; it’s the perspective of someone who has played every Battlefield since, with hundreds of hours in BF1, BFV, and even BF2042.
My goal here is to share detailed impressions, hoping they can help make BF6 as great as it can be.
Gameplay & Mechanics Feedback
- 1 -Squad Command Limitations in Vehicles
-Currently, as a squad leader inside a vehicle, I cannot issue squad orders.
-This breaks coordination, especially in vehicles with multiple seats (tanks, transports).
Suggestion: Allow squad leaders to issue attack/defend orders while in any seat of a vehicle.
- 2- Inability to Request Orders from Squad Leader
-In past titles, if a squad leader was inactive and you requested an order, the game would promote you to leader automatically.
-This system encouraged active leadership and improved match flow.
Suggestion: Bring back the automatic promotion system for inactive leaders.
- 3- Vehicle Entry Animation Missing
-There’s no transition animation when entering a vehicle.
-Even a short one like BF2042’s quick cut-to-seat improves immersion without slowing gameplay.
Suggestion: Add a minimal, fast entry animation or visual cue.
- 4- Crossplay Options
-Currently, disabling crossplay restricts you to only your platform’s players.
-This drastically reduces matchmaking options.
Suggestion: Add a “disable PC only” option so console players can still match together without PC input disparities.
- 5- Aim Assist Strength
-Aim assist feels significantly weaker than BF2042, which was already controversial.
-This results in a “floaty” aim that loses most duels against mouse+keyboard players.
Suggestion: Adjust aim assist to be closer to BFV or fine-tune it for more consistent target tracking.
- 6- Slide/Dash Speed & Recovery
-The slide mechanic feels closer to CoD than Battlefield. While not as extreme, it’s still powerful.
-Movement recovery after jumps is too quick; accuracy penalties should be higher.
Suggestion: Slightly slow post-jump aim recovery and reduce slide spam efficiency.
- 7- Medic Revive System
-Medics can revive with defibrillators or quick-pull revive, but there’s no option to just pull teammate to safety without reviving instantly.
Suggestion: Give medics a “pull to cover” action before revive, or extend the delay before forced revive to allow positioning.
- 8- Server Browser Absence
-Without a server browser, low-population regions are at risk of being excluded due to matchmaking limitations.
-Past titles thrived on community servers.
Suggestion: Include a server browser at launch for player freedom and community sustainabiliy.
- 9- UI/Visual Clarity
-The interface feels cluttered, with oversized elements and too much on-screen information.
-This impacts immersion and makes visuals feel heavy.
Suggestion: Provide UI scaling/customization options to adjust HUD size and density.
Closing Thoughts
These observations come from genuine passion for the franchise.
I’ve been here since BF2, through every high and low.
BF6 has the potential to be a fantastic Battlefield, but implementing (or restoring) some of these features would greatly improve both casual and competitive experiences.
I would love to hear what other players — veterans and new alike — think about these points, and I hope the development team can consider them for future updates.
Thank you for reading and for all your work on Battlefield.
