Morning everyone,The 2024 F1 calendar was just released, I'm attaching it below. Source: F1 ESPN Instagram account.The first thing that caught my attention was Japan right at the beggining of the season - I guess in an effort to ease logistics. Nonetheless we still got Miami between China and San Marino (sorry, Ímola is San Marino GP) and Canada between Monaco and Spain - but I see improvement.I'm glad Spa is confirmed. Does anyone knows what's about the Kyalami GP? I thought it was to be confirmed for the '24 season.Cheers everyone!

@dancrodrigues From what i've read on some motorsport sites, Kyalami almost made it into 24 calendar but it seems the owners of the track got greedy in the last minute and at least for 24 the deal is off. I was hoping to see it in 24 before those news emerged. Maybe in 25 or 26 we will see Kyalami which like mariohomoh said it's indeed an awesome track full of history!

@AnonymousWell, Indy is making some movement to race abroad, there's conversations with Mexico, Brazil and Argentina for nest year and they already race in Canada. There's a Indy driver (which name I'll not remember now) that said that if they are racing in our ground we should race in theirs. This F1 invasion didn't go unnoticed. Nascar even sent a prototype car to this year's 24h of Le Mans.About Miami and Vegas I guess is the same logic as Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Saudi, it's money. And it's not wrong, it's a business afterall.

For the opening two races of the season in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, the Grand Prix will take place on a Saturday. This decision has been taken to accommodate Ramadan.

Kyalami is an awesome track but I never put any stock in it making it to the F1 calendar 🤷

On my craziest dreams I still wish for Laguna Seca, can you imagine De Vries, Magnussen and Tsunoda going together into corkscrew chicane?!

@dancrodriguesI don't understand why they don't do Canada after Miami, makes more sense surely.
Also they stopped negotiations for Kyalami because of SA's relationship with Russia apparently, atleast thats what i remember reading.

I was hoping to see it in 24 before those news emerged. Maybe in 25 or 26 we will see Kyalami which like mariohomoh said it's indeed an awesome track full of history!

There's a lot of stuff going on for a GP to happen: there's contracts, weather, preparation of the track (Canada isn't a permanet track)... that's why I think they slowly change the calendar. It takes time.
Anyway, I believe the 24 calendar to be more sensible then 23's.

That's make sense... when money enters, reason's out.
Heard something about an yearly rotation of some tracks to manage to fit all the tracks that intend to be in F1. What you guys think of it? Personally, I like the idea.

Yep, as @dancrodrigues said. They expressly mention those general constraints in the page:
By moving Japan to April, Azerbaijan to September and Qatar back-to-back with Abu Dhabi, this calendar creates a better flow of races in certain regions, and this work will continue while being realistic to the fact that as a world championship, with climatic and contractual constraints, there will always be travel required that cannot be completely regionalised.

@dancrodrigues Yeh sure but logistically to go from monaco to canada and then back to spain makes no sense haha.
Thats the whole reason mexico always follows the texas race i thought.
Anyway just thinking aloud.

@matty0blobber Its an improvement from this year at least.. Sure it could be way better like making Australia-Japan-China a triple header and not having a 2 week break so all teams fly back to europe in the meantime but its better 🙂

Apparently the Montreal promotors are adamant they have a June date, because in May snow and frost are very likely there
