abs with car setup

Im wondering if anyone here runs abs on and how is it with brake bias in the car setup? Cuz im reading some people put it on 50 on all tracks while others still have it like when abs is off, so depending on track could be 53 or 56 or whatever.

@TigerAlen410ABS should have no impact on how you set up your car as the goal would still be to not ever rely on its activation. ABS should be a safe net if you're not quick enough to react to the signals of wheel lockup.

Now if the current implementation of the ABS is crooked enough that people can exploit it by changing the setup, I have no idea.

Generally speaking, 50% BB made sense to the handling models prior to F1 23. I would double check if you're not reading obsolete info.
I can see how it would make sense to set it to 50 and just go ham on the brakes with 100% force all the time if ABS is broken enough to automatically modify your input to the threshold point, but 1) I don't think that's the case and 2) playing the game like this, relying on the exploitation of a broken system, is utterly foolishness.

That last part is obviously my opinion and I have no business telling anyone how to enjoy a product they bought playing by themselves in the comfort of their homes.

Lol if it makes the lap times quicker then who wouldn't set it to whatever's optimal?

    It's racing after all.

@VL_RYAN heh, racing. That umbrella that encompasses everything from Mario Kart to iRacing.
  • I can't say anything about ABS, I always turn off steering/braking assistance.

And because I got my driving licence when ABS was not widely available in cars, I learned how not to rely on such features 😉

I wouldn't recommend to set BB to 50, sometimes you really need front-end to help you stop the car for better rotation into a corner. On the other end, default setups have very high BB, around 60, which doesn't fit my driving style.

So I guess it's like @mariohomoh said, it's up to you how you want to enjoy the game 😉

Just FYI, I usually go for setups between 56-52 because I gradually break into corners and I often get on throttle before apex 😉
