Honestly, I don't think he complains about them doing the fast lap. I think his problem is that it is unrealistic that so many cars get out simultaneously and keep a perfect distance to do an undisturbed last lap; simulated or not doesn't matter; usually better than the earlier one 75%-80% of the time.
I am sure he is okay with them doing better laps later in the session; he just doesn't like the "fake" feeling of so many cars doing it all together simultaneously. If they would go out mid-time, you could have time to study their time and react, maybe try an extra time, but in this way, like last 3 minutes is the one-shot qualification. Don't even bother to make an early one. Just go out simultaneously as them, go directly to the flying lap (so ai, keep your distance), and do your one-shot lap together with everybody else.
I totally get his point; I just don't think is a priority or easy to fix. But yeah, I am not a fan of qualifications right now I feel is kind of pointless the way it is is very similar to one-shot (just wasting lot more time)
Yeh its more a realism thing and I of course understand its not a priority, but even in that video i posted a few of those cars post faster times still which does add to it feeling silly.

The only way why I keep doing qualification is so AI uses the red tire, and the tire selection is more realistic
with one-shot qualification, you save a lot of red tire with 0% use, and AI tend to do four pit stop to take advantage of those red tires (in 100% race)
if you do real qualification AI use the red tired and the pit stops are more 1 yellow 1 white 1 red (at least for the top 10) rather than 1 red 1 red 1 red 1 yellow (one-shot quali)
