What he means is that you have a ingame option called Custom Multiplayer Race. This looks exactly the same as the old league did in F1’22 (and F1’22 also had this Multiplayer option). He’s proposing that you add a option to save this custom races you do there, and on that way create a custom league-like situation, as we all would like to have it.
It’s the same concept as I already gave as option. Just re-add the old League menu (it’s already in the game, you use the same game-engine and code as last year games, it had the exact same bugs in the menu as F’21 and F1’22, so please don’t call F1’23 a new game, it’s just a big update on a platform that’s already more then 6 years old), and add Racenet as a extra feature. Then the 95% of the people have the good old league back we all loved to play and all want to have, and an extra menu option for a Racenet league for the other 5% of the people.
EA is loosing potential buyers in my opinion (and from what I read and hear), not only for F1’23 but also for future F1 releases. And that's a bad thing The main focus of EA is wrong at this point. And I know you alone are not EA, and you as a hard working person is doing everything you can to help us and give us a feeling we are heard about this.
But the problems are much deeper, in the core of this game and the focus EA has with this fantastic franchise. There are so many option EA could add, what we as fans are asking for for years, not all we get is things like ingame Sport Cars (nobody drives in or nobody use it), a virual room with furniture etc (please, it’s a race game, not The Sims), and now a game session that’s removed from the game, and added on a external website, that doesn’t give us the freedom we had before, and removed a ton of functions.
But we still got a very old circuit of SPA, Game bugs that are in the game since F1’20 and F1’21 that still aren’t fixed (I presume because the priorities are not into fixing problems but try to put new stuff in a Racegame that nobody wants). Gives us old tracks, give us a real career mode with all the F1 cars from 2013 till 2023 (you have build them in this game engine already, you have/had the licenses). Add F3, the W-Series or even the Porsche Cup (if you stay with the concept of using Supercars in a F1 game). That are features that let MORE people buy the game!
As many already told here, nobody is waiting for a option to create sessions OUTSIDE of the game. The big part of the community are casual players. They sit on a sofa or in a sim, going trough the options INSIDE the game, and start the race. We don’t want to go on out cellphone, laptop, pc or any other device to TRY and configure something that is basically still in a BETA fase (with all the options that are missing and not working). Your main focus and main audience is not the few influencers you have online and play the game (sometime realy realy bad), but the big group of casual players, that are into F1, and buy this game because they can race with the most accurate F1 cars. Give this group the feeling they all want, and that’s the WOW factor everytime they start the game an start a race! And yes, I understand that you are part of the Racenet team, and you get paid for making it as it is and making it better. But the truth is, that how hard you work on it, it will never be accepted by the 95% of the people that play this game and these leagues.
There are a lot of forums about this, and chats on Twitch/Youtube, messages on Discord etc about the dislike of this feature. And how hard you try to make it into something, the main part of what we are asking and saying is not heard. And that’s that we don’t want Racenet! We want these option back into the game itself, and not on a different device then that we are playing on. This is not why game consoles are created! I hope that you have the “power” to let management know how we truly feel about this!
And again, this is absolutely nothing personal on you! I really respect you, as a person and a developer, to come here and chat with us! I really do! And all the work you have done so far. I hope you understand the feelings of the biggest group of gamers too.
