Custom League's dependencies for Racenet are terrible choice!!

What great mind at EA had the idea to remove the settings of creating a league on your screen, and need to scan a QR code on your phone to make a league?

We have a friday race competition, always starting at diffrent times, as soon as everyone is online. We now only have the option to start on fixed time? WHY?!?!?!?!?!

And the fun part was that we could adjust the race 10 minutes before we started. Now everything needs to be planned. That's no fun!

We just want to setup a simple league, with 10 tracks selected, and start every race when we want to. If it's on a friday, saterday or sunday, that's out decission! You take away our freedom of racing!

And we want to select a team/driver we want! Not by a preffered setting or something. The league setting was something that was already good, and now you broke it!!!

Please remove this stupid feature and give us the old league setting system back!

Hi @Raymond-Smits, I’m the product lead on Racenet and am really sorry to hear about this. Thank you for your feedback and points raised. I think they are very much valid. On-demand leagues is something we are working on right now to get into production as soon as possible, it was something we wanted to implement but other more pressing prioritise took precedence. I can’t give you a date just yet, but we are talking within the month I’d say. Below are answers to the other points you raised.
- No option to select a Team and Driver spot - This can be set in preferences, but we are working on the ability for owners/admins to make edits.
- No option to race On Demand (we never race at the same time or day, always when we feel like it) - As mentioned above, we are working on this now.
- PSN Friends can not find eachother on Racenet, so all friend request need to be added on a seprate way. - This was a restriction outside of our control, however we did add the ability for you to import PSN friends via add friends area.
- All my RaceNet friends can join a league now, but I want to invite just a few specific people for leagues. Also not possible. - We are working on the option for you to control if your league is either by invite only allowing you control.

They’ve said they’re going to sort it but I have my doubts. This has got “EA SPORTS” written all over it. Slowly turning F1 into Fifa.

Maybe they will fix the "on demand" option but sadly i have doubt for AI...
With luck they will come as heroes in F1 24 with a new feature announcement" League Race with AI available".
Bit like the controller problem that was never fixed in F1 22 and annouced this year as super new feature.

That’s the problem. It’ll be added next year and claimed as a feature as you say.

glad I haven’t bought it. Usually have the champions edition bought with the loyalty discount. But since that offer no longer stacks on Xbox I didn’t bother as the price was too much so was just going to buy the normal version. But thankfully the trial has shown me that the most important game mode to us is no longer there.

Having to schedule races with no current on demand option is a really bad choice to ship the game with and on demand options need to be patched in as soon as possible.
The FAR BIGGER issue is not being able to fill the grid with the AI F1 drivers. This option was available in the past few iterations and was great for small groups of friends who wanted to run a championship season.
This version of leagues under Racenet effectively gatekeeps the league setup to large groups of users. Can a dev please advise if this design decision can be patched to include AI F1 drivers?

@Raymond-Smits Thanks for highlighting this. It’s completely insane and smacks of when EA brought out NHL15 with zero features and then brought them back a year later.

Just to be clear, I have always raced with two friends in a season long championship with 17 AI drivers. We choose drivers, edit the AI, and jump on and play when we want

I appear of have now paid £88 for a game that has taken all of these options away but did not tell us ANY OF THIS WHEN I PRE ORDERED

This is an absolute disgrace and I’ll be asking for refund

Guys, we have to be more optimistic and hope they will restore AI in Leagues, since for many people is a necessary feature to play and enjoy the game.
We have to mantain active and constructive the conversation in the forum so that EA can do something about it, possibly as soon as possible 😬

@sir_anam You are right about being more optimistic! A solution IMO would be to implement really fast the on demand option on racenet and somehow to bring AI back! To be honest i don't care if i have to setup a league on racenet site or ingame as long as it's working like before! The way it is now it's a major set back. Another solution i don't see, maybe you guys have something else. To implement Leagues back in the game like in F1 22 within 2-3 weeks i am 100% sure can't happen.
