So then is there any reason to turn off the ERS deploy during qualifying?
I always thought ERS was just the Yellow bar in the middle. I didn’t know there was a deploy cap (green) that resets every lap.
Does the yellow bar mean anything during quali?
What I do is as soon as I pull out of the pits, I turn off ERS deploy for my outlap because I don’t want to waste ERS. As I come into my flying lap, I turn it back on, but sometimes that means trying to turn it on in the middle of a turn or chicane which is kind of troublesome. What’s the easiest/best approach here?
From what you’re saying, it sounds like I should just forget the yellow bar and leave ERS on Hotlap since it resets every lap.
@RyKnocks There is no reason to turn off ERS while you do your Hot Lap no. The only exception is when you are on a track where your deployment cap is reached before finishing the lap and you find some tactical use in disabling in somewhere else instead of the last straight. That happened on Portimao in last years game (don't know if on this years, too), but it also happened with my high downforce setup in Qatar. However, I didn't think I benefit much from disabling it somewhere else.
