But are we really going to judge someone for the value they attribute to their 60 bucks? Going to scoff them for spending that money on their F1 game?
If they got their money worth out of it, kudos for them.
If they didn't, absolutely should refund if still able to. Perhaps get back to it later on a sale, or grab an used copy on the cheap somewhere.
If they didn't and cannot refund? Hopefully that's a lesson learned. But kicking them online will absolutely not help that lesson sink in.
@BadMayh3m specifically is an old timer, has been playing these games probably longer than any of us has ever been able to reach the gas pedal. And he's got his grievances with F1 23 as well, stick around and you'll eventually see.
Heck if I will criticize him for spending his money on these games if he thinks he's getting enough out of them, or if he has confidence enough in this franchise to jest that he'll do the same next year.
His opinion is valued, has hanged around with the occasional dev in these forums and the original ones, and he voicing his discontentment with the few (or many) ways that F1 23 rubs him the wrong way packs some punch. Don't think it's fair to equate him to the "suits" at EA, even as a rhetorical artifice.
I suppose best way for us as a consumer to protect ourselves. Is whenever buying a digital game from a company where we have a game account where all the games we buy from them are linked under one account. Would be to create a new account whenever buying a new game. So no other game is linked to that account. Because we consumers have excellent online purchase protection. We may not be able to get a refund from company we purchase our products from. But our bank or credit agency absolutely will. Five minute phone call to them explaining situation and give them any supporting information such as links to sites or community forums. They will instantly credit your account. Also as banks and credit agencies don’t pay seller instantly for every transaction but every 28 days. It means we have 28 days to contact bank and get refund. So bank will notify seller that transaction has been withheld due to consumer complaints etc. Bank will also say to company as purchaser was not present don’t even bother trying to dispute the withheld payment.
So what’s having separate accounts got to do with anything? If EA is informed by bank that payment has been withheld. EA and all other game companies will permanently lock you out of your game account. So you obviously cannot play any game linked to same account:
They get us by making us and convincing us having all our games we buy from them linked under one account greatly benefits us. But it’s entirely for their benefit. To stop us from using the one thing we have that they have no defence against when it comes to online purchases.
I’ll miss my little silver star 🙄😂
Stop sniping at eachother. If you’re smarter than someone else. Then help them don’t kick them. All off you that have genuine grievances if You direct them to were the blames lies: you’ll all be pointing in the same direction.
