The F1 World tech changes has improved nothing. Granted, I'm now 4 seconds a lap faster than the AI instead of 6, but that's it. Shove the tech modifier up and you end up with noobs in rocket ships. Fast in straight lines but can't handle a fight. Only played it for 5 minutes and the problems were instantly visible, how the testers didn't notices this beggars belief. New year, same old story.
Leaving the AI difficulty locked at 35% is what's holding the whole feature back. I can't believe it's just being left that way.
Edit: It just feels like, for the past few years, when there's a fix needed, the minimum amount of effort possible is put into it, corners are cut, compromises are made, and it becomes just surface-level, papering over the cracks.
"But for this to work properly, you need to fix this aswell"
"Nah, just do this and leave it. It'll take too much time and effort, need to work on the eSports model anyway. Besides, this game is only for casuals now, they won't notice."
That's how it feels.

well i played more than 30 races so far (always in 50 and 100%) and only see 1 red flag and rarely safety car, but no problems so far with both

I started a new career mode save after downloading the patch last night and had a weird issue. Have formation lap, safety car and red flags turned on. Had a red flag in first race and worked fine and no bugs. Next race I noticed there wasn’t a formation lap. Checked the settings and noticed formation lap, safety car and red flags were all turned off. I didn’t change it myself. Finished the race and checked the settings after from the team headquarters laptop and all those settings were locked and I couldn’t change them. I’m doing 35% races and changed this to see if it made a difference. For any race length other than 100%, the settings were locked. I changed to 100%, turned them all on, then went back to 35% and the settings saved. Haven’t done the next race yet so not sure if it will work or if the same thing will happen again after the race.
just wondering if anyone has had this before? I never had it with my original my team save that I played 2 seasons.
cheers

Sorry mate I only played for 5min it is for the children I am afraid but it is not a serious game.
- 2 years ago@gmhsv1 Sadly yes. And a lot of it is pointlessly drawn out.
It's trying to be Gran Turismo (plus Call of Duty with the looty upgrades, a feature I initally thought interesting but got tired of very quickly, it's kid's stuff), but it's just "do 5 races at Austria with diminishing assists" and I drive with no assists anyway, so it's pointless. It's a huge waste of time with little imagination. The one way I hoped it would be made anywhere near playable was through unlocking the difficulty, and that's not happening.
So they've spent god knows how much time and money on another feature that barely anyone will play or find fun, that on top of Sofa Simulator last year, who the hell is signing off these ridiculous ideas?
Codemasters need to go back to basics - career, MyTeam and multiplayer. That's it. Stick to those, fix and improve them. AI behaviour, AI mistakes, better damage model, wet lines, drying lines, sector by sector weather, driver goals, better contract system, better driver acclaim system, offers from other teams instead of being able to pick anyone, I could go on. Stick to the core game and make it the best instead of wasting time and money on this rubbish.- 2 years ago
Guys one solution is the F1 Official body must revoke the licence from EA/Codies and pass this over to someone that actually cares about F1 and give us Community best ever F1 game we could ever dream, there are great companies that can make an unbelievable F1 game!
I would say writing down a letter to the director of F1 and all regulatory bodies put an petition and end this nonsense of EA/Codies with this unbelievable joke of a game we have year after year! I would say I do not need a every year game what we need is well made and built and engineered F1 game that we can all love and enjoy not a copy paste!
