Two things I've noticed since the patch.
1 - Big frame drops in wet races. Had no trouble with this before, not since release.
2 - Weird new thing where I'm getting brief moments of the car taking control away from me but not control the of game, still able to pause and flashback, so not a controller issue.
As I'm braking, the car will stop braking, it'll roll and sometimes even starts throttling, and I can't steer - as in, can't even turn the wheel despite wiggling the thumbstick. Then control comes back. It'll last about a second or two, but enough to cause a problem, even a crash and potentially end my race. It's like it's trying to mimic locking up but the wheels are still turning, and it's just like AI control has taken over the car and it starts rolling straight instead. Had it several times since the new patch. And again, not a controller issue - playing other racing games, and this hasn't been happening with them.
Also had an incident of this during a collision, got punted and spun and my car suddenly throttled up towards a bunch of other cars, causing more carnage (checked replay - wasn't being pushed, car was doing this under its own power). Again, couldn't steer, it was like AI control had taken over. And again, still able to pause and flashback - this time before control was handed back to me, so not a controller issue.
Terrible, terrible.
My edited control settings are gone. Yesterday at least I could do ranked without any assistance, but starting this morning I'm losing points over points and assistance options have totally disappeared.
EA totally hates me, this game has the most hateful issues and is keeping on adding.

Hi everyone,
thank you all for your candid feedback. We've forwarded and are investigating the reported issues and will let you know once we got an update!
I also fully understand that it's frustrating when stuff breaks and things don't work out. However, please keep it constructive and remember that the developers are human.
If you run into any new specific bugs after this patch, please create a post with as many details as possible in the bug report section. Or search if one thread about it already exists, like the unequal car performance here for example.

All well and good but considering 95% of the time they don't listen to feedback when there are many "features" that break and unbalance game modes and they won't get changed its pretty understandable that people are annoyed, especially when patches break more than they fix. Like, why has it taken 4 years and still no change in sight for the broken stat boosts??
On a side note, driver stats have updated again, badly, again (Lewis and Hulk nerfs? Really?) Need to stop changing them every two races because it completely ruins certain drivers just for a one off bad race and it messes with people's career saves. Need to accept that the driver stats are something that the balance team clearly knows nothing about and need to just add a feature where we can do it ourselves, like every single other sports game.

-VendceraYou clearly have zero knowledge of Codemasters’ REPUTATION about patches that break the game, patches that have zero importance like things for season pass while FFB on TM still is no bueno, and let me tell you that the controller settings reset isn’t the first time also. And within the 23 release this is already the second time the equal cars is busted.
if you really know the reputation of the devs, you’d understand. Yes they are human, but even a donkey doesn’t hit a stone twice. Well, it’s the same old youknowwhat, just a different release.
and the community is FED UP with this failing policy and way of working. Every year is the same and when CM just is oblivious or simply ignorant, i don’t know, but it really seems they have gone too far this time accordinh to all the replies.
i wish them luck with restoring any trust and faith ever again, IMHO it really seems like CM has f’ed up 1 time too many this time.
and I don’t need to explain that once trust is broken, it’s almost impossible to restore. ESPECIALLY towards CM with their horrendous reputation.
something serious had to change, and the higher ups at EA have to take drastic measures. Or else that boycot will actually be coming reality and it’s bo sales forward anymore.
trust needs to be restored, and if nothing is done, well good luck. So take that up with the bosses at EA if you want F1 to succeed any longer.
for now you’re doomed to fail. EPIC!
- zombie1823 years agoSeasoned Veteran@EA_Vendcera we are also human and we have paid a high price for something that still does not work and gets worse with every "patch", there is NO excuse for that
- marcusm20223 years agoNew Traveler@EA_Vendcera We understand that everyone makes mistakes, but come on. The game must have a perfect presentation like the reality of F1, both cars and tracks. That's why I don't see any reason for EA sports - codemaster not to update the tracks too, that would help me a lot, and as for the cars, why not update the cars according to the track, that is, each track will have a different car or more , when selecting the track, the car you were playing in would already be updated, for example Monza with Ferrari and so on, DRS has to be this one, but realistically too, the opening is very small, different from the real F1, please do it that.
- 3 years ago@zombie182 Don’t forget that TESTING patches is also human and should always be standard to eliminate those human mistakes.
So the they’re only human attempt was a good try, but not something to regain any trust or understanding EA! - 3 years ago
Just found that in an online lobby, the SC came out, it was set to cinematic, and whilst Ai took over, the whole grid was suddenly changed. Nobody in pit or whatever, suddenly front runners were at the back, lap behind for nothing.
yep, good job!
- SirusVR3 years agoRising Adventurer@Iceman038-NL Something is definitely off.. I was on the last lap in a ranked game and the AI like took over my car and slowed me down and I never let off the accelerator. I got passed by 3 cars right at the end and I had no control over the car. 🤷♂️ At this point I would be happy with the putting the game back the way it was before this last patch.
So frustrating. - Trekari3 years agoRising Hotshot
I don't think so, Tim.
Your "developers" continue to release patches claiming to fix things that are not fixed, and were clearly never tested and confirmed fixed, all whilst telling us that the drops on our faces are just from the rain.
You want us to remember that people are human beings? How about you start acting like WE are human beings. Like WE actually paid for your salaries. Like WE deserve an apology for how EA treats US.
You clearly don't test your patches at all. That isn't a "human" problem, that's a "corporate greed and we don't care whether our customers are happy problem."
TEST YOUR ALLEGED PATCHES AND STOP MAKING US DO YOUR JOBS. - 3 years ago
@EA_Vendcera Any update?
On Tuesday you acknowledged that the equal cars issue exists and then radio silence. We're rapidly approaching the weekend when many leagues will want to hold their races, and we've no idea whether to go ahead or postpone or what. If this isn't going to be fixed by the weekend, can we at least have that confirmed so we can make a decision?I realise these things take time, and its not you personally delivering the fix, but this is not a minor issue and deserves the team's full attention and frequent updates to the community.
- ScarDuck143 years agoLegend@SmokeyTrellis Very much doubt it will be fixed within the next week. Codemasters very rarely release a hotfix. They always bundle multiple fixes into one patch. So they may have already fixed equal cars. But if say 3 or 4 fixes won’t be finished for a week or even longer. It’s likely equal cars fix will be added to that patch
I didn’t say it’s right but it’s just how they do it - 3 years ago
I suspected as much, but was slightly hopeful that they might do something sooner given the nature of the issues.
Ah well, a weekend off won't hurt too much, hopefully they won't be too long getting the next patch out.

Hey everyone,
we've heard you and the team is currently hard at work getting a hotfix ready addressing the equal performance issue and settings resetting. We will let you know as soon as we have more information to share!

I guess this friday is the scheduled day for hot fix if everything is working right?
- ScarDuck143 years agoLegend
So all I need do is list everything that wont be hot fixed and everything will be fixed in a week 😂
- 3 years ago
Sorry to say but the damage is already done for the average player, nice there will be a hotfix for equal cars but goals are still locked and the FFB and other deleted settings won't come back.
- BadMayh3m3 years agoSeasoned Ace
@JanKondlerI would think during server maintenance....about 11pm to 12am EST Sunday.
- JebeFIN3 years agoSeasoned Adventurer
@EA_Vendcera WE NEED that hotfix patch on Friday.. I NEED practice for league race.. and that wheel/pad settings + calibration SHOULD be fixed too.. IT'S important and I don't waste this time..
- Trekari3 years agoRising Hotshot
On one hand, I could be an idiot and pretend that the notion of a hotfix this time around means that you people have changed your development pipeline.
On the other hand, I know that the only reason this rises to the level of 'hotfix' urgency, is that you've pissed off the eSports people.
It's nice to know that the multitude of bugs still present in the game, and the repeated, inexcusable failures of your developers towards the tens of thousands of "regular" customers don't mean a damn thing, but god forbid you upset the eSports people! THEY MATTER.
Too little. Too late. At least it's nice to have irrefutable proof that you only pretend to behave like a reputable publisher when you think your existence is threatened.
Still haven't seen the word "sorry" anywhere.
- 3 years ago@EA_Vendcera Out of curiosity : How many are "the team"?
Because this game feels like it's ran and updated by one or two people. If you tell me that more than 10 people work in this game I won't believe it.
It's actually funny that every week seems to be a new community manager around here. Are you guys being sacked or you just plain quit? I don't blame you for quitting because if the state of the game is any indication of the work environment then it's better to leave. And while you're at it leave the F1 franchise as well, please. In the name of everyone who plays and roots for this franchise.
