unfortunately we can talk as much as we want but those who have to read and remove or extend the license to other producers don't read.....the problem is big because I doubt that anything will change with the 24th, they will use the same physics, same folders, copy and paste, same bugs. .....otherwise I would have said dear guys on the 24th let's change everything.

There's a lot of points to be made about this that are disappointing.
- They only care when the major eSport leagues rant and rave about bugs, as if those 40-ish people are the only ones who bought the game. I guess we need to get them to rant about how stale career mode is in order to get new stuff for it?
- Apologies are non-existent for some reason? Just own up, explain what happened (if you're allowed), and give an ETA. That's it, it's not hard.
- Codies have been acquired by a multi-BILLION dollar company, but seemingly refuse to take 5 minutes out of their day to QA test even the basic parts of the game.
- Yearly releases need to go, starting the next F1 game release. EA WRC is $50 USD for however long it will be supported. But a yearly release title (F1) is $70? That's backwards. I'd rather pay $50 for a "base" F1 game and like, $25 for the new regulation cars (2026 in this case). Clearly whoever is Creative Director or whatever of the WRC game, knows what they're doing and has actual passion and care. Get them on F1.
- The fact that a multi-person team somehow broke Equal Cars, which shouldn't be touched, AT ALL, plus wait for a patch for more than one week, is inexcusable. Devs, do better.
(Also you guys can say you'll boycott the F1 series all you want but everyone knows they'll be buying the game next year, full price or discount.)

@JustShadowWolfeGood comment. Only thing I'd mention is that the people who DO walk away from the series won't keep commenting here, so we end up with a forum that self-selects for everyone who says they'll walk away, then doesn't. I personally know someone who stayed true to his word after F1 22, and he stopped browsing these forums entirely. If I forego F1 24 I'll probably do the same.
I think the metrics for sales and average players near release were about halved from F1 22 to F1 23, so there are people out there who are foregoing these games. Whether it'll be enough to get meaningful change, we'll see. - fazerinho3 years agoNew Scout
Good evening everyone,
I still cannot belive that in 2023 we are still in the same position. Even with the previous games we had these bugs again and again. I simply cannot belive that a company can do that. Are they lack of people who can test it? Then why dont they provide us a public test build on STEAM? We can still use the stable version of the game and beside that also the test version with the recent changes and once its stable then they could apply that to the "main" version of the game. But no.. instead of that we got nothing, not even a reply just one single sentence with empty words that says nothing..... Can someone take the opportunity and forward that to the devs, for real? Thats the point when I feel like many of the players going to look for new opportunities and I hope no one will buy the game next year if everything still the same......

@OatmealB0wl There's also a core number of members that congregate around F1 as a sport and still hang in here despite not buying a new F1 game for years. Especially on the days of the original Codemasters forum you'd have a significant stream of activity from such users discussing all sorts of things F1 and racing. Since the original forum shut down, many did not make the switch, but there are still a few like these.
With the slump this franchise is experiencing and EA's AHQ not really being the most charming of places to hang around, those will most likely peter out even more.
Talking specifically about the franchise now. The numbers for active players:

See, with F1 2021, you also need to remember that it was released during the 2021 season - and the way season has gone has impacted the game's interest by a lot.
Combine this with upgraded damage model and a more difficult handling, and this is why it had high interest in general.
Plus, some new features (like timings in Replays, Full Race Replayd (and the bug which allowed to watch everyone in Multiplayer which was VERY useful for Leagues) and a Story mode, and the game had interest for a long time.
F1 22 already had a rough start with the Early Release on Steam and of course F1 Life was a huge flop, and no matter how they tried, I'd say Codemasters couldn't keep the interest going - especially with how rough the end of 2022 season was. And not to mention generally bad handling and 2023 season being... Even rougher.
Which brings us to F1 23 - yes, handling is much improved, yes, some new features were added, but the sheer amount of game issues has likely turned a lot of people away. And not to mention that this season is literally turning new fans away because of such Red Bull dominance (unfortunately).
For the same comparison, I think it would be cool to add F1 2020 as the game was likely impacted by COVID the most - plus, it got released essentially before season properly started!

finally, but the damage is already done and as always there is no word of apology from CM or EA, paying customers are just treated badly.
the next game MUST be cheaper in any case, actually every player is already entitled to compensation now - AlessandroMio113 years agoRising Traveler
