@Ultrasonic_77let's imagine that instead of that vague useless line they said "fixed head tracking lag and stutter present when fps is below headset refresh rate" then OP and I and other VR players would maybe consider buying it. I'm going to make the bold prediction that it's not fixed. It's ok I love iRacing and would rather support that company instead of EA / Codemasters.
Errr, not sure if you missed that my post was from over a month ago? No need for 'bold predictions' now either since the game is out. Sadly this is in the 'not fixed' category by all reports.
F123 didnt fix the problem

EA released a game with a main feature crippled by incompetence? Then they left it that way for a year and didn't fix it for their annual DLC release??
I'm shocked. - 3 years ago
EA, I'm getting up there in age, and you continue to disappoint me decade after decade. I am the one who blasted the boards demanding VR, then you release it broken. You are either too inept to find a fix, or you're actually trolling the people that matter. A mouth breather couldn't tell the difference from input lag, to frame time inconsistencies, so don't give us that trash about "it's subjective". Maybe I put my money where my mouth is and hire a lawyer to contact F1/Liberty Media about your mishandling of this franchise?
EA, FIX THE G** D*** VR HEAD TRACKING!!!!
- 3 years ago@Nasty187 join us in iRacing open wheel. VR is incredibly good, and it's a proper simulator.
Short EA - 3 years ago
What do you expect from garbage, blurry, stuttered, 20 years old engine.
- 3 years ago@Stampede_251 I already am. I am all over Formula A and the W13 in iRacing. 2500 hours in heavily modded Assetto Corsa (Gotta love Race Sim Studio's Formula Hybrid 23).
Both games I run in wide FOV Pimax. 144hz in iRacing, 120hz in Assetto Corsa, both with no reprojection. NO VR ISSUES.
If EA had me on QA this thread wouldn't exist. I have zero faith that EA actually cares about fixing the game as long as they meet their sales targets.
Sadly, if you want a BETTER VR Formula 1 experience with VR tech that ACTUALLY WORKS AS IT SHOULD, then F1 2023 is not for you. It's almost as if F1 23 is the Mario Kart of the F1 simulation world when put up against iRacing, AC and Rfactor Formula mods.
EA really can bring a gamer to depression. - 3 years ago@Nasty187 lovely to hear! I love the W13 in iRacing. Great community too. Small but very skilled and committed group. I love the Race Sim Studio Formula Hybrid 23 too! Verstappen said that it's a great sim.
Yeah I'm on Nvidia RTX 4090, Reverb G2, 64 GB ram, 13600KF CPU, these run like absolute dream, like butter.
You have a good point about the QA - they just don't care. What I don't like is what this says about them as a company- they will lie to get sales. This is not VR support. I'm pretty sure this is not legal in the European Union, I will look into it. I'd like a refund for F1 22.
They are bringing a FIFA philosophy to simracing. The problem is that simracing is much closer to racing than FIFA on a gamepad is to playing football. They don't care. In the long term, the better product will win, and hopefully that means that the F1 rights go to someone who cares about building a good product.
Short EA, long iRacing and Kunos Simulazione
Let me know if you ever wanna practice together, Montreal is kicking my * this week :D - Ultrasonic_773 years agoHero
I think there's an important distinction to be made between testing to find there's a problem and then being able to rectify it. Beta tests and I'm sure internal testing have no difficulty doing the former.
- 3 years ago@Stampede_251 Could you share your VR settings for the G2 for iRacing? I assume you're using OpenXR?
