Guys no doubt PSVR2 would be great if properly implemented. But you’re looking at it from your perspective and bias.
Look at it from EA’s point off view. Cash is king. Shareholders are gods. EA would have absolutely crunched the numbers and if it was a sure fire win! “It’s in the game”. But it’s not. It’s as Simply as that.
They are not the only developer. I just looked on PSstore for psvr2 and there are currently just 2 AAA games and both made by Sony Studios,
It’s all good to dream just don’t get carried away. They won’t put it “in the game” until they know for certain it’s worth it. Like I’ve said big developers don’t like gambling trying to set trends they like to follow them.
Fortnite… Sets a trend. Activision, Ubisoft and EA follow.
PSVR2 Once it establishes a trend. The rest will follow.
@ScarDuck14I think you're making the implementation of VR harder/bigger than it would be for this particular game. This would not be a title built from the ground up for VR, or a stand alone product. A standalone VR F1 game would indeed be an investment/$$$, I agree.
It is basically a patch enabling a camera view that has a FOV (Field of View) of 110°, then some coding for it to trigger right before a race starts. Then linking a free cam to the headtracking of the headset. OBVIOUSLY there is more work than just that, regarding developing it and optimization, but that's just the gist of it.
We don't need to push and turn individual buttons and nobs on the steering wheel. The controls would be the regular gamepad or wheel.
110° FOV
locked 60fps reprojected to 120fps, or if possible native 90fps.
Again they already have their engine running at 120fps with a smaller FOV on the PS5... I'm positive with Foveated Rendering, they can get 60fps > 120fps... or native 90fps locked.
For this year's version I don't need to be in a showcase room where I walk around any of a car models or other fancy stuff. I just want to race in VR
I don't know if you have the PSVR2 and GT7 yourself, but here is a quick video of how they chose to implement it for now. Everything else is just the regular 2D menu like on a TV, until your race is about to start.

@AfrikanxlI’ve not once said it will be hard.
It’s purely about bang for buck. If EA thought they would get enough bang it would be in the game. But I’m assuming their projections say next year they will get the band they want.
I go back to the only 2 AAA games currently on sale that support PSVR2 Are both Sony games.
Despite F1 gains in popularity in recent years. It’s still a niche sport. Majority people who buy this game are F1 fans who casually game. This game doesn’t sell anywhere near the numbers on PS as GT7. Let alone to those who have also bought PSVR2. EA will play the waiting game when they are convinced adding PSVR2 to the game will be worth doing. Currently they do not. EA earns billions every year. They don’t need to rush into anything. No matter how much we few want it.
