Last month Sony denied reports that it had significantly reduced the sales projections for the headset because of a disappointing number of pre-orders. It was claimed that the company expected to sell 1.5 million devices by March 2024 rather than two million.
As impressed as he is with the headset, Middler is worried that the same complaint which has dogged VR gaming from the beginning still applies now - what will people play? There's a lack of unique experiences available for the device he says.
"You're only really getting Horizon: Call of the Mountain as a true PS VR2 exclusive.
"Where are all the other big Sony titles that make the PlayStation itself so popular? Where's the Spiderman VR game or a Last of Us VR experience?"
A lack of so-called "system-sellers", titles so good they encourage people to buy new hardware just to play a particular game, is a criticism that is often aimed at many virtual reality devices.
- @ScarDuck14 Cool story but i’m not talking about Sony and their psvr2 games and sale numbers and what not, i’m talking F1’23. Not 1 sentence in your story has anything to do with the discussion🤷🏻 just steering away from the topic how they released a game in beta state.
@ha6hk3w77mwj 100% agree with you ! I am a fan of F1 games (Codemasters). I bought all seasons. Like you said, it is easier to develop for PSVR2 than for PCVR. PS5 same setup for everybody!!! They told …. not enough users on PSVR2.. EA please tell me how many users on PCVR with a decent VR gameplay. (Powerfull PC - good and compatible headset) ? The EA choice… I believe this is disrespectful to PS5 users. If you cannot do a good VR for PS5 because you are still not in 100% new generation game for consol, please tell us !! Something you must to know, when you tasted virtual reality for a racing game it's impossible to go back to a flat screen.
Anyone who has experienced the experience of VR glasses with GT7 will know how grandiose and realistic a game can be. This is a big step compared to the flat screen. Once you've experienced it, you just don't want to go back. And I can only imagine how awesome F1 23 could be with PSVR2.
For me, the implementation is also an investment in the future. The numbers of the PSVR2 will increase rapidly with the spread of the PS5, which is finally available now, and also with time, since some wanted to wait and see if the new version is really as good as announced. Which I also find understandable.
basically there is already an implementation on the PC and I think that EA could also take some code from there.
Dear all,
I am a newcomer on the forum, enjoying racing game (GT7, ACC, and F1 2021-2022-2023).
I don't have much to say other than being frustrated that F1 23 doesn't support PSVR2. Like the other I've been racing with it in GT7 and it is really a life changing experience.
So please EA take in consideration your fan players that we are and develope this feature....
Have a nice day everyone.

I’ve now had psvr2 and gt7 for 5 months, I’ve had F1 23 for 1 month. I rarely drive f1 23. Gt7 in psvr2 is amazing and with no psvr2 support and the osd costomization bugs, f1 23 just can’t compete. The only reason I purchased f1 23 is for two new tracks. They are fun, but the excitement has worn off. I will not be purchasing f1 24 if it doesn’t have psvr2 support regardless of how many new tracks it offers. EA and Codemasters are on notice and need to wake up. If they want my money, then they need to release a product that is compatible with modern gaming technologies.
- @b77b3a9e41aca313 I agree 100%
I’m a fan of F1 and F1 games. After getting psvr2 and gt7, I decided not to buy anymore F1 games before psvr2 support. I’d really love to play F1 23 with all the improvements, but there’s no way I’m racing with flat screen again.
not after experiencing vr racing. I’ll buy one the moment it has support.
