I'm having the same issue, with zero recourse. I purchased F1 23 SPECIFICALLY to use with my oculus. My PC meets or exceeds all of the specifications they list, and it just doesn't work. There's no way to directly contact EA and this is BS. I will be contacting the better business bureau as they are advertising falsely that it will work...In the mean time, I'm out a lot of $$, not only for the game, but the PC and the Oculus!!

What PC specs do you all have?
I have a meta quest 2 also, and tried VR with F1 23. If it wasnt for the hot weather atm I would be doing all my F1 gameplay in VR. Working fine on my end, but obviously everyones setups will differ. So for comparison sake, I will post my full specs up.
MSI MPG Z790 Edge DDR4 motherboard
Intel core i7 13600k (slightly overclocked performance to 5.4ghz and efficiancy cores to 4.2ghz)
Asus TUF Gaming RTX 3080 12gb
4X8GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3200mhz (CMW16GX4M2C3200C16W) Using the XMP-profile
Asus ROG Strix 1000w PSU
The cable I use for Oculus Link is a 'Kiwi Designs 5m link cable', and tops out at 2.4gbs inside the Oculus PC software USB test.
I have default settings (currently) inside the Oculus software, and I run the quest 2 at 80hz (I also have a rift S, so want the refresh rate to match between headsets incase I have to use the rift s again for any reason).
Game settings I had set to VR-High, with crowds set to "low". Everything else was default in game for the graphical settings.
Gameplay wise, everything runs great. I still get a tiny bit of weirdness while looking rapidly left/right. But outside of that, my VR gameplay experiance in F1 23 was smooth and enjoyable. Any strangeness with turning my head wasnt noticable while racing, only on the grid.
Given the current trend in games acting weird in regards to high Vram use, I would make my first port of call checking to see if Vram constraints are a potential issue while running F1 23 in VR on your systems. Then work from there.
Also, GPU brand does matter a little with the Quest 2. They tend run better on Nvidia GPU's, as the Oculus PC software makes use of the NVENC encoder on Nvidia hardware for the Quests 2's video stream. So sommething to keep in mind. From what I know, using virtual desktop for wireless VR can mitigate this one though. Which might be an alternative to look into, if you dont already use Virtual Desktop for wireless VR use on the Quest 2.
USB can also be another factor, as some USB types do not work well with Oculus hardware, especially the older fully wired headsets. My old motherboard was made by Asus, the Oculus headsets never ran properly from it. Even the quest 2 would freak out on it. I had to install an inateck USB3.0 PCI-E card, a card Oculus directly recommend for use with their headsets. So something to keep in mind.
I dont know if this information will help any of you out. Just wanted to share a few things I have picked up since the Rift CV1 days incase it is of use to any of you.- 2 years ago
I have a pentium 5 9th gen, 32 gb ram Nvidia GTX 1660. I have an Oculus2 with their cable. My pc has tons of disk space (1 TB+) When starting the game, it basically works ok, till you actually select f1 life. Then the whole thing just freaks out. I can tell my processor is buried. I've tried about every configuration and it basically just will not work. I feel like their specs are wrong. There is exactly zero support. I purchased the game for my PC specifically to play VR. Otherwise, I'd just run it on my PS.
- 2 years ago@ocwambo Do you mean Intel Core i5 9th gen CPU? There is no Pentium 5. An i5 9th gen should be alright, but barely - their minimum VR spec is i5 9600k.
Their minimum VR spec for GPU is 1660 ti, so your 1660 is actually below spec (there's a fairly significant difference, 10-20%). And their minimum spec probably is too low, the recommended VR spec is a 2070 which sounds more reasonable to me.

Same here. I was playing on ps5 and purchased a pc and Quest just for this game. Headset crashed 6 times during a 15 lap race.
