Miami Rain Chance - Random or Scripted?

Hi guys,

I don't know if this is just me, but there's a serious problem with Miami in F1 23, and this problem was in F1 22 as well.

Miami is known as the Sunshine State, yes? Well, think again, because every time I go into a race weekend in Miami, there's always rain in 99% of all seasons that I played. I'm honestly wondering why, because it shouldn't rain in something that is called the SUNSHINE State. It makes as much sense as a rain pourdown in Bahrain on a race weekend, and this never happened in any F1 game ever.

I want to know, is there a way to manipulate the weather by say turning off Autosave, going to the weekend, and when the race sees rain just restart the game and try again? Please let me know, because I don't like Miami in the rain. And considering that this track is still new, I have almost no experience with rain races.

Good day,

Nico

PS: This is especially so triggering when the race is wet, but the ENTIRE REMAINING WEEKEND is dry. Tell me that isn't poorly designed.

I think you are just unlucky. I played 2 times on Miami in career and it was dry in both races and quali too. Sunshine State but they have rain too and the chance of rain is definetly much bigger than in Bahrain. In the picture is the rain chance in Miami for this week.

@LuckyNico92 Well, Miami averages 5 inches of rain during the month of May so while it looks like your game is a bit OTT with the amount of rain, it’s not completely unrealistic

and FYI, it’s FLORIDA thats known as the Sunshine state and to give an idea of how big it is, it’s about 9,000 sq km bigger than England.

@Hempyjr Maybe I really am unlucky, but the problem is that this usually happens on tracks where normally, it's not going to rain on the race like Monza, Texas, or France, but there's still a high chance of rain, and it ruins the awesome races that I would have in the dry.

Which is why I'm asking if you can technically turn off the Autosave, go to the race weekend and there's weather on the race that you don't want, can you restart the game and try again, hoping to get a different outcome? Or is all weather in Career Mode predetermined?

@drewgriffiths The thing is, on tracks like say Spa, Interlagos or even Silverstone, I don't mind rain in the race, since that's actually very likely to happen. But tracks like Monza, Texas or Le Castellet are in countries where it's normally dry this time of year. Maybe have one or two races with rain there in 10 years, but there's no real way for EA to code dynamic weather like this.

And if they're gonna force us to race in a totally drenched Miami, might as well have us race in a rainy Bahrain, how about that? Which reminds me, I once had a rain race in Abu Dhabi in F1 22, which is very unlikely to happen, if you ask me. And it was honestly a really cool experience. 😊
