OSD Customisation

I've finally got round to F123  But it seems that the F9 Layouts and F2 Filters have an independent mind of their own.  I set up an OSD in TT with TT/Normal but next time I go back to TT, OSD is back to Race and a different filter.

It seems maddeningly complicated to have to tweak the OSD for every eventuality.  Is there anyway to select an OSD setup eg TT Normal, and set it as a default for all gaming until I work out what I want to do with it all??

  • @Pin6all Unfortunately not. It You wish to edit the OSD. It’s tedious as you have to adjust the OSD for race, practice, qualifying, time trial etc etc. As it was never this annoying in previous games. I find it hard to believe the devs designed it to be so annoying: But it’s been raised and reported many time throughout the year. However none off patches have had anything in them relating to OSD

Thanks.  Pretty pants really.  And we still don't get the lap delta being shown during a fastest lap replay, which would be of real use.

  • Amazing.  In TT the settings were retained from a couple of days ago.

  • But it is still really difficult to customise.  It seems to be locked during practice sessions - how am I suppose to change it??  The customisation should always be available when in the garage for example.  Just like my road car - I adjust the positions and mirrors before leaving the garage.

I don't think they designed it to be annoying. They just designed it once, badly.

The game is a "bucket" environment. Every single mode, challenge, feature, replay, etc.

It's just they decide which bits are relevant in each of the above.

The problem is they reset the bucket each time you load in for certain things if they have no value (i.e. you've not played part of the game, for me this is career, My Team....Zzzz) or it carries your values from the last state....except where it resets / ignores them.

Like why in TT the weather is always Midday and now the performance is always set to Realistic (except with this one, I think it's a label problem, you change it it gets saved but the session value isn't carried forward to the next, but I'm not good enough a player to really tell the difference except on the worst of the Realistic cars when set equal).

Like why when you save a lobby game state it doesn't reload properly for some settings when it should (reported since when game state saves became a thing).

Like why flashbacks mess things up.

@ScarDuck14 Thanks. Found it But I looked during a P1 session and the "OSD Customisation" line wasn't there. Back now. The mystery of the 0s and 1s!!
