Ranked is a waste of time.

Sorry if I sound like a broken record at this point... but ranked MP is basically a waste of time at this point. To set the scene... I'm about 100 points behind promotion before this race at Monza...

@AllanWeigand A good driver with a wheel and without assists would beat a driver with assists as the assists make you slower. I think people overestimate the actual impact of assists here. I think they should be seen as an accessibility feature and nothing else.

@dotazured Again, I think this comes down to playtime. I can do well around tracks I know despite only turning off the assist for 23 because I have a good idea of which gear to be in and how much traction I'll get in to, through and out of each corner. But the tracks I don't race often, people with assists (including the OP ABS) have an advantage.

The racing line is also the biggest assist of them all and is rarely mentioned. I think there should be an icon for it on TT leaderboards and if people want restrictions on assists in higher ranked lobbies (either skill-level or, preferably, licence), the racing line needs to go too.

    @Pepski Your suggestion would disallow players with visual impairment, motor dysfunction or other impairments to be able to play and compete against better drivers who drive without assists. This is the form of gatekeeping and segregation this community doesn't need. If you only want to play against people that don't use assists, may I suggest joining leagues instead and leaving the more "casual" game modes alone?

      @dotazured With respect, I'm not looking to gatekeep. I've only just turned to Elite assists myself and I'm learning despite suffering from cerebral palsy. It's tough but rewarding.

      I'm also in a league, but can't commit to more than 1 night a week at a specific time and would like to turn to a game mode for competitive racing when the time suits me. "Join a league" is not a solution that should be thrown at anyone trying to suggest improvements to a flawed system.

      Others have said that choosing your licence level before a race would improve things; I think that needs to tie in with making higher licenses harder to achieve (starting with strict corner cutting).

      Other games use an XP multiplier for removing assists. Maybe I should get more XP (and therefore rank up to Silver II, Silver III, Gold I, etc.) for finishing 8th with Elite assists than someone else gets for finishing 2nd with TC, ABS and the racing line?

    Tracks familiarisation - I agree.  TT Leaderboards - I agree.  Racing line - I agree.

    The Time Trial leaderboards should be downloadable to weed out the assists used and 3D driving line.

    I don't think you ever mentioned assists should not be considered as a 'Accessibilty' issue.  Of course they should be there, but they should be ranked.
