Even though I have a Moza wheel fully set up, because I have other controllers on my PC (flight sim) which do not have presets, it gives this warning every time. I have to go edit controls, discard changes every time to get in. Even if those other controllers are set up and saved as a custom scheme, you still get the error on start up.  It should check for custom set ups before checking for presets

I got this once. I simply edited the custom scheme a second time to save the remaps (again). 

It has worked for me. It is a workaround, discard the changes but then modify the custom scheme one more time. It might help if you close and relaunch the game, because I also did that too.

I agree with you. Controllers UI needs streamlining and functionality fixing.

However, try binding one control from each device to a special function that you don’t use in your custom wheelbase profile. That and maybe a second save of the binding might at least give you a workaround.
