Re: f1 23 - gears issue

@atfmarko I believe that the Mercedes gearbox cars (Mercedes, Aston and Williams) all have that problem. The Mercedes gearbox is indeed shorter in revs compared to the other gearboxes. They reach the 13000rpm much faster than others.

In this video though, you can see that both the Aston and the Mercedes get to eight gear first than the Ferrari and Red bull and the top speed ends up being less. What is unrealistic in the game, is how fast they actually reach the 13000rpm, making it cap the top speed when you reach half the straight. And this problem will be even bigger when you advance trough the seasons, because you develop your car in a way that you reach top speed even faster, but the gearbox can't go along that speed.
So, the game is spot on in the fact that the Mercedes gearbox has shorter revs, but I don't believe it's right about how fast they actually reach it.

I can confirm about Silverstone Abbey/Farm + Copse, at least that's my feeling and I keep the 7th. Comparing 7th vs 8th actually it's almost identical, perhaps +1 km/h at slowest speed in the corner (Abbey 296 - Farm 295 - Copse 290) in 7th for me but it may depends on how good is the line.

Daniele Haddad (eSports driver) use the 8th everywhere and he is 296 - 294 (for a millisecond) - 291 in his lap (link). Perhaps the 7th is not faster but just more forgiving about the line...
