There is a known issue with Thrustmaster. for the moment on Xbox, you need to follow and check Thrustmaster website support and social network for the drivers and firmware updates.

Open the TX Control Panel and check that the firmware version is V58.06 (and not V58.00) as show here: https://ts.thrustmaster.com/download/pictures/PCMAC/TXRW/TXRW_CPL_FW_V58_06.png.
I have tried all the updates on the firmware for thrustmaster t248. It still did not work. I also unplugged x box as was posted on another answer . It works but then when you turn x box off you have to do the same . But it also mucks the settings up and switch modes also when playing the game it looks like i am driving a truck as everything passed me in half a lap and car non responsive . Was on pole and 14th after half a lap. It changes settings in game modes

Also make sure that your game is not set in QUICK RESUME MODE (because this mode is made for gamepad controllers and brings some Force Feedback or Telemetry issues with Steering Wheels). More details here about this mode: https://ts.thrustmaster.com/faqs/eng/FAQ_About_Quick_Resume_Xbox.pdf @DoublemtIts not a wheel issue so going to the wheel manufacturers website won't help. I have been there and done it...no solutions.
