Codemasters TeamOptimal gear shift beep on /off is set in AUDIO SETTINGS->Upshift Tone-> On/Off
It will play both in “Manual” and “Manual and Suggested Gear” if set to “On”
To turn off the beep in “Manual”, switch it off in the Audio Settings.
Bear in mind that real F1 drivers with manual gearboxes use upshift tones, so it's right this is in the game as an option even when not using suggested gears.
(I use manual gears but like having the upshift tone personally.)
A new request for your consideration then... can the Upshift Tone ON/OFF option also be placed under Assists menu?
I think it should have been there in past versions. That way Gearbox aids such as Suggested Gear and Upshift Tones are in one place.

I understand where you're coming from but as real drivers use this I don't personally count this as an assist. I'd rather see using TV Pod view labelled as an assist myself 🙂.
