I'm starting to study the tyres file ERP (thanks @P4st3l1ak), having the new C0 compound the code name looks shifted by 1 place, before to make the wrong assumptions, what do you think about @Actuall...

@Nuvolarix Could you also post the weight distribution of the cars? I feel the Aston Martin car is massively underperforming compared to where they are in the performance ranking. Alonso is a long way behind the Ferrari and Mercedes cars and more often battling with Lando and the Alpines. I also noticed I had to lower the difficulty by 7 points driving in the Aston Martin car compared to the Williams car to place the car where it's supposed to be. This also happened after I had upgraded the cars a fair bit. I constantly got better results than expected with the Williams on 100 AI while struggling at 93 AI with the Aston Martin, it feels like some upgrades don't apply or something.

@Nuvolarix Thanks for this precious informations, this could help a bit on making right car setups. Would also be wonderful if we can know some reference to:
- Each +1 on aerodynamics , what weight adds/leaves
- Each +1 on suspensions,roll bars, and height what weight adds/leaves
- Other values on how they affect the car
All of thia parameters, can help a lot on making, theorically , well balanced car setups

Regarding AM performance its 9kg overweight ingame as of yet and has the worst weight distribution on a certain axis but as @DavidGG53 said its more difficult than just that one value..
This is a list of the COMY weight distribution values (centre of mass on the y-axis iirc) on the right and in the middle what "ranking" it would be among the others
- @Meza994 Thanks man! This was the one was the one I was looking for. It's the upgradable part of the weight distribution, so Aston Martin is really poor in this regard, but so is Williams. Yeah, might be that the Williams suits me more to drive. But it's not because of facing better drivers because we were the 5th best team at this point and I won the race on 100 difficulty. The whole season 1 was big trouble in the Aston Martin.
It might be because looking at the tables Aston Martin seems to be really unbalanced with high weight and poor weight distribution but the second best downforce.
It's also might be because they have tried to balance the AI difficulty where the AI always get too good when the car is upgraded, and it went a little too far in the other direction where it becomes easier vs the AI when the car is upgraded, because it was in season 2 where it suddenly got easier. - @Meza994 And also looking at these tables something's doesn't add up.
According to the ingame performance chart Mercedes has the second best chassis, but Mercedes should be behind Ferrari in chassis according these tables. They have the same weight but Ferrari have better COMY chassis value.
Does this mean they finally have made different cars have different starting Tyre Wear?

It's also might be because they have tried to balance the AI difficulty where the AI always get too good when the car is upgraded, and it went a little too far in the other direction where it becomes easier vs the AI when the car is upgraded, because it was in season 2 where it suddenly got easier.What i mean isnt that you are facing better AI in a top team but the car (a williams) isnt as bad as it seems in the performance charts, but getting a win in the first season is definitely not the difference in performance so yeah, might be suiting you more especially the specific car physics independant of downforce etc. Cant comment on the development, ive not tried career modes so far as they dont offer the depth id like but will probably do some day as the handling is much more enjoyable than 22 haha
Regarding the performance charts for chassis seems like a mistake to me, the upgradable tyre wear is the same for all cars (at least as far as i can see) and should be same for brakes, the only difference is the COMZ weight distribution value which Ferrari have a higher value but every time i played with it i couldnt really say it was definitely making a car faster, rather changing understeery/oversteery... Also noteworthy that RB and Ferrari have the same chassis performance data but RB has the superior chassis in the charts in career mode soo i wouldnt take those charts for 100% accurate but i also might oversee things and dont have all the background data on the cars!

- @Meza994 a reminder that any team at the start of a career get some upgrades applied, even race one, any team, will not be 100% the car you see in the xml file, but it will have already a few things applied from the upgrade section.
So it could be that the redbull gets a chassis upgrade right away in the career and my team. We cannot know, and will really never know, as the upgrades applied, or the path and everything related, is on files that we cannot open/modify.
We can only see the effect in physics of maximum upgrades, because those are stored in the handling files. - @DavidGG53 Really? I always thought that in career modes there are only the engine supplier upgrades when starting a career mode i never saw any upgrades (unless playing MyTeam) applied so its in the background? I find it weird to differentiate the car performance from GP mode and the very first moment in career mode (before even doing one day) but its the choice of the devs!

In previous games it was always over 0.100 which had the interesting calculations as Greco told in last years thread. However I'd presume, seeing the COMZ number being that small, that 0.054 is the actual weight distribution to the rear.
- @DavidGG53 Are you certain of this? Then the car gets som invisible upgrades that we don't get any information about. All I can see when starting career with either Red Bull or Mercedes is the extra engine upgrades they start with, nothing on the chassis.
At least last year the performance chart reflected what was in the xml files. - @Mikulitsi Yes, but I was mostly referring to the COMY value in the chassis section when asking about weight distribution, because this is the value that changes when you do weight distribution upgrades in myteam/career mode.

I actually looked at what Greco said last year:
Red Bull's COMZ is at 0.054 as I said in an earlier post. Presuming that COMZ is calculated the same way as in previous years the weight distribution for Red Bull is 51.5% rear - 48.5% front
51.5%*1.8 - 48.5%*1.8 = 0.054Hellow fellow data fans đ
For example, when you do a quali lap on softs, you wear your tire (like 10% with out and in-lap)
When you're back into the garage to change for new softs to improve your quali time, the game tells you how much a new tire will be faster depending on tire wear you have due to your 1st tentative
Is there something in the files to know time you gain/lose with a new/used tyre ?
Example
5% wear = -0.3s
10% = -0,6s

- @Mikulitsi Ah, I had answered it last year then đ¤Ŗ. Well yes then it should still be that system. But again, always with a pinch of salt, as I don't work there anymore đ
- @Djazz98 Not directly in the available files, its a background translation from wear to expected laptime but it shows the grip amount you will have at a given wear% and yes its especially early on not linear at all đ For those who want to do the maths on average one can calculate per percentage of tyre grip 0.3s laptime gain/loss in the game but that works on the total amount of grip a tyre provides not on the grip loss/wear%..
For example:
C5 at 100% has 98% total grip = ~1.20.00s laptime
C5 at 25% only has 93.18% of its grip which means 93.18% of 98% = 91.32% grip which means a loss of ~2s laptime = ~1.22.00s
However C2 at 100% only have 93.5% total grip = ~1.21.35s
C2 at 25% has 94.37% grip left so 94.37% of 93.5% = 88.23% grip which means a loss of ~1.58s = ~1.22.93s laptime
Grip loss at higher wear% is much more promoted at softer tyres though as was shown by a nice graph from David previously
So its in the files as we can see the wear rate, the base grip and the grip loss at certain wear but it requires a lot of simple math to do it for all the tyres and wear haha hope i could somewhat help
