Will voice commands be available on F1 23 on PS5?

Hi all,

Does anyone know if F1 23 will support voice commands on the PS5 version of the game? For F1 22 I was using the PS4 version of the game on my PS5, as voice commands were not supported on the PS5.

Perhaps it’s a bit early as we know nothing about the game as yet, and I’m probably jumping the gun… Perhaps someone from EA/CM will be able to advise?

    Voice commands on current hardware are not supported. The features available to developers on the PS4 and Xbone are no longer available to us on current hardware so its not likely to return in future games unless these features are added by MS/Sony.

    @TotosCuffie as I wrote some time ago in the dedicated forum since sony doesn't listen to us users but they have contacts they could insist. that being said for me these are not very important things I prefer them to focus on the game that this year almost all of us agree that it is a megaflop. if I point the finger it's because we spend money to have a functional game it's not up to us to solve things, don't you think?

    @Nellix82 This decision is nothing to do with Codemasters/EA. It's a Sony issue; I would guess that the voice commands on the PS5 software is likely the limiting factor. Sony has voice commands to be used within all the applications and games. This is likely going to cause issues when a game like F1 22/23 needs to use game commands as it will need disable the PlayStation baked in voice commands. Whether it's a conflicting software issue, Sony doesn't want developers gaining access to that part of the software, or Sony can't allow access due to the system wide software, it's squarely a Sony issue, nothing EA/CM can do about it so there's no point pointing a finger at the developer.

    @Monzstar83 I think the boss of the company would prefer to go ahead with his line if they listened to most of the useful advice at this time there was talk of a pro version and an arcade one and an exclusive ps5 version no offense to those who still have 4 maybe they were making the version 22 with updated liveries because everyone should play anyway.

    Yep, I don’t think anything has changed - Sony introducing console voice commands hasn’t made a difference.

    I also don’t think it will ever come unless there is demand and push back from content creators - I can’t think of any other game types where you might want voice commands. And if frankly, the feature is not available, then I think content creators will just live with it and develop around it, rather than push back.

    As I’ve said previously at the launch of 22 - I think if they only released the game for next gen only, it’d be a bigger deal  for the user base. If that is the case in the future, they need to let us edit the first MFD page for commands we most use, rather than flicking through multiple MFD pages.

    @ScarDuck14 Yup, Sony's doing. Not sure why they don't allow developers access to to it but I'd take a guess that it's probably related to Sony's software for voice commands not being compatible

    @Monzstar83 they've always said that it's not caused by them but by the console, coincidentally, but it doesn't work on xbox either. then sony on ps4 makes it work on 5 no, I don't see it as a story that is not very credible in any case given the excuse I don't think they will solve it.
