@milky669You're definitely not alone. F124 is extremely poor compared to F121 and F123. I wasn't a fan of F122 which I thought was terrible, but still better than F124!
There are so many fundamentals they have got so wrong in this year's game. From the ground up they have made a complete and utter hash of it.
The only thing I enjoy in the game are wet races, the handling in the wet feels spot on, excellent. They have basically stripped the game bare, destroyed handling for controller players, decimated the store, created rubbish AI , TV replay sounds albeit sound great do not match the visuals, invisible bumps within some tracks, AI that have the same impossible acceleration out of the corners same as F122 and barge into you at race starts and lock wheels again same as F122.
Without doubt there is a common trend here. The team who made F122 also made F124. In future I honestly wouldn't bother, as in my opinion the other team who developed both F121 and F123 are miles ahead. That's why I'm more hopeful for F125.
EA are fixated on prioritising gimmicks and unrealistic content and it's simply not working. The sooner the better they realise this it will benefit everyone.
All we want as F1 fans is a game that actually represents F1 in real life. Not F1 world, not Fanzone (utterly pointless and a waste of time), no endless pairs of headphones and Puma shoes.
Make the handling suitable for all players.
Improve the AI.
Improve the sounds to match the visuals.
Improve the weather system.
Improve engineer chat.
Put in a helmet editor.
And for the love of god, test the damn thing for ridiculous bugs before release.
Bring back the old F1 game design from the Geoff Crammond´s era. What we actually need is quite simple:
- online time trials
- online and offline customisable racing (week-end scenario)
- online and offline championship
- free run (where you can test everything without the outside pressures - even pit-stops, strategies and tactics, dry and wet setups, etc...)
That´s it. Very simple, but fully functional F1 gaming environment where the core of the F1 gameplay represents simple, but fully working environment for anyone.
Don´t get me wrong, I do not complain, I like the overall track design - it´s been significantly improved over time - I like it very much. Handling is fair enough even for players they prefer wheel and pedals - it´s good. I like the customisable camera setting - especially from the cockpit view - perfect! The sound was not bad at all, but now, after the last patch, the Ferrari engine is totally useless.
Look at the present EA WRC game - it´s been drastically improved over time and now, it´s amazing piece of software, it really is the best rally game on the market now, hence the F1 game is going the wrong way and the devs do not know how to get out of this neverending mess.
Please respect the loyal fanbase, focus on core gaming elements, improve the game accordingly and think twice before the next F1 release, because this one is really very bad indeed, almost unplayable at this stage.

I played GP2, GP3 and the final series GP4. Way ahead of their time. A friend of mine said as soon as EA took over the game would go rapidly downhill and he was not wrong.
Pointless unrealistic drivel does not belong in any F1 game.
