Created Players in Roster
If you are the type of person who plays an offline season and use created players on your team and possibly on others, this is what you have to do.
Before I explain, be sure to create all your players in the creation zone first and release them from the team you created them on.
DO NOT USE THE FEATURE - “UPDATE ROSTER” while you are doing this as it will refreshes with the current 2027 NFL players.
After doing this, start your season in Franchise Mode and choose the offline setup and select the mode that discusses using created rosters.
Once the roster uploads, do the following:
- Be sure to turn off salary caps and release players on the team if your choice to ensure the team has a good amount of salary cap. Even though you turn off salary cap, if the team you use doesn’t have enough bank to “negotiate a contract” with your created player, they won’t be interested to join your team. THIS IS A NEW FEATURE IN THE GAME
- GO TO MANAGE ROSTER and select the FREE AGENCY and then PRACTICE SQUAD and there you will see your created players.
- Negotiate with your player and offer them a little more than what shows as their contract amount. Be sure to add a good bonus, a NO TRADE clause and more than a year for the length of contract.
- Once the player joins, they are on your team to add to your depth chart accordingly.
- Visit the USER TEAMS section to remove salary cap penalty also.
- **If you wish to add players to other teams to have interesting competition during your season, select a new coach in the USER TEAMS section, select the team and repeat the steps above.
- If you have more than one coach, be sure to address if you want to manage it manually or allow it to go automatically to avoid having to address responsibilities to perform during your season.
- BE SURE TO DO AN AUTOSAVE POINT AND NAME YOUR SEASON - don’t let the system save its own file. This is necessary to ensure you have a file with your custom creation.
I have tested this and have played the first preseason week and the second week shows all the created players on the teams I signed them to.
I write this to address issues I have read about people losing their players after week one.
They have to be assigned via the free agency pool first.
