I switched from last year center and made a rim protector because it looked better with Anthony Davis Dunking and 3pointers. You might be to heavy not enough speed or vertical. Also the ai is all over you with insane defense. Try using a trait to speed up while dribbling or running without ball. Use catch and release, statement dunker and last one for speed. I sometimes come up short and make layups. Try hitting r2 and square but not so close to basket.
I know last year I was able to do self alleys easy now it's much harder. Centers now are dull all about defense and slow thats why I tested this out on demo and switched to rim protector. I made a 6' 11" like Anthony Davis but at 238-243 so he is bulked but not slow. Davis is 253pounds so I went by looking at my character and every 10 pounds he gets bigger. You need to find right balance of big and weight and watch your numbers to right of attributes for verticle. The bigger you are the less you are agile but better for blocking the heavier you are you get more strength but lose verticle.
This year you have to pay attention because there is more selections more defense and not has fast arcadie game from last year. So if im 6' 11" at 238 and go for 7' you go up around 244+ but not past the next bulking of character which goes up I think every 8 pounds. Move slider left right u will see more muscles on character. I don't know what you guys made like 7' 3" 280+ but I did research online for nba builds and found the days of going big and heavy are not true. Players want new roles and big but medium is ok to so you can move have speed. It's a game so strength does not matter. Now if you want a football player heavy don't expect to making dunks, your a wall and will be used accordingly in the game for defense and yeah layups. Live 19 compared to 18 is different, might be same clothes and shoes, some courts from before but player motion thing changed it up so it more real and harder. I read from Reddit that anything more than a 6' 11 and your done for it. I was a 7' 1" in live 2018 and was macking it, this year I stepped down and re did my player.
Now if you are jumping around to block you lose position and pay for it. You have to be more precise with your movement. I have street dunks and want to perform fancy dunks but most times they seem like normal ones. I have done one or two of the sweet dunks. Try hooking around rim and Dunking from side instead of straight in and be cleared. I looked at demo and saw Anthony Davis Dunking and said yeah that what I want. You can also to a king build and make him 6' 11" 7' I think but that not a center but he will dunk. Look at your skills the center does have dunk locked at start so they are not on the primary skills you need to have them the focus of your build not secondary... Happy dunking
