Auctions for 110 players

What gives with trying to win an auction for a 110 player or highly popular 109?  I sat on the auction house for hours today refreshing ever second. I saw [2]110 magic, [5]110 harden, [1]110 shaq, [2]110 slim reapers, [1]110 Greek freak, [1]110 Ben Simmons, and [1]109 cartoon Zion. I was able to click buy it now with at least 5 of them, with no success, only telling me I was too slow. Too slow?  The card was up for 2 seconds before I hit buy it now. 

Anyone have any tips?

I’ve spent too much money on this game to be yanked around like this.  Seems like the buying bot could be dialed back a touch to give humans a chance.
