I was prompted to update and now all my players are gone. Whats going on

Where are all my players my team was quite complete and suddenly your update has deleted my progress my players and starting me from scratch. This is a huge disappointment I've been playing this game for several years. I would appreciate if you correct this problem I want all my players back that I earned. Thank You
