Problem with Super Duos Lineup

I love the game but it is Major inconvenience to try and complete sets that level up my players but the game will not allow me due to the fact that I cannot replace them in my line up!!!!! I am not trying to sell them or use them to get something different!!!! I am simply trying to upgrade them!!! Thank you for fixing my problem!!!!
