Ability Stacking
Do Shooter and Goalie Abilities stack and give double boost combinations? Combinations that I’m wondering about are Close Quarters + Make it Snappy and for Goalies No Timer + Extra Padding.
Hi there, @SeaZop
When abilities have the same effects, the highest is used. They won't stack.
Thank you for this response this is helpful but leaves a lot of questions. How do you know which is higher? Mainly if you have both badges silver does Extra Padding and No Timer have the same boost against a Slap Shot One Timer?
If they have the same boost, the higher is chosen. You can look at the boosts to see which is higher.
Where does it say that though the only separation in description is between gold and silver to my knowledge how do you know for two silvers?

This is interesting. I've noticed that different abilities seem to kick in on the same shots. For instance, I believe butterfly effect can trigger on one-timed shots. Would that mean, then, that having a gold ability that triggers on one-timers would render silver no-timer pointless if used in combination with a gold ability that triggers on one-timers?
I suppose what I'm trying to figure out is, would it make more sense to use abilities that dont trigger in similar scenarios as they only the highest ability would actually trigger, and rather use a more varied set of abilities that wouldn't cancel each other out?
It depends what attributes they boost. In the case of CQ/MiS, they both boost shot power and accuracy so the higher modifier is chosen.
In this example does that mean something like Butterfly Effect and Lightwork would be similar effects and only 1 would work if the snap/wrist shot is a low shot? Would it be allowed to release a list of % boosts per ability? This would help with a lot of the confusion i think
