Now when we know something about NHL 24. We beginning wait next big reveal and it's, which are the new alumni players in NHL 24. EA Sports added these new alumni player to the NHL 23. Goalies Mar...
@NicCrosby87 Okay!! One idea, which I wanted see in the game is historical teams. We have classic teams in the 2K NBA games, this would be great add also to NHL games. Would be nice, if the game had teams like '98-'99 Dallas Stars , '03-'04 NJ Devils and '83-'84 Edmonton Oilers.
In FIFA 23 is great face creator tool, what we can use in the player- and manager creation. This would be nice add to the NHL games. On this tool we could create of young Ovechkin face. It's strange, that EA Sports has not added to this face creator tool to the NHL games. I think it should be added.
I wish for so many years to get actual retro teams! My Penguins from 2008-2009, Blackhawks from 2010, older 70’s Bruins and Canadiens and much more.
The issue with this : Licensing! In NBA 2K there are 13-14 players per team and most of the time, 7 are generic ones. Now imagine NHL with 23 to 25 players. You also need to have different versions of every player to match the accurate ratings, no more Mike Modano 90 overall in Detroit for example.
I speak from experience, creating rosters. Even on 2014 or 2016 rosters I miss 6-7 sometimes 10 players I have to create. As much as I want it, I know it’s a huge work to put in place. I highly doubt devs would do it.
Realistically:
50 max players roster instead of 35 would be a huge step forward.
Updated face scans for many many players. I mentioned the Sedin is a good example of an old 10 years scan.
New face scans the current alumni rosters! Guerin, Langenbrunner, Maurice Richard and 100+ more. I create a different Bill Guerin because I feel the actual one doesn’t look like him at all. Same goes for many players. It’s sad that I can create in 5 min a better version of the player than the generic one they give us.
Different versions of each player ! Not 1 Shea Weber at 70 rating in the Nashville Alumni because of the Arizona one would be great!
I mention in my NHL25 wishlist post ideas for creation suite, such as retro gear, create helmetless players, editing current generated players! If I could switch things up for players that don’t have an actual face scan, that would be marvellous!
@NicCrosby87 I know your feeling, when you creating a team and you notice, that some players not found in the game. I wanted create Canada's 1991 Canada Cup team to the game, but 4 players not found in the game, I have to create them to the game, that if I want create real Canada's 1991 Canada Cup team to the game. If I wanted create Finland's 1995 World Champion team to the game, I should create almost all players to the game and it’s a huge work to put in place.
Your ideas to the creation zone was good. Would be nice, if we could create helmetless players. But we also need old gears for goalies and skaters. Would be awesome, if we get all equimpments back to game, which EA has remove.
It's sadly, that EA Sports don't care offline players and creation zone, for them is important listen online players and fix problems, which they have in online game modes.
Let’s hope we have some improvements in near future! I heard Tougie24 (Youtube) speaks about how creation suite will be better and he sounded excited. It got me excited! I usually create over 650 players, with accurate appearance, gear, contracts, rating for my rosters. Really delicated, I have a good time doing it. If there is new stuff that makes my life easier I’ll be happy!
I created in NHL22 2008-2009, 2009-2010, 2016-2017! My PS5 tells me I played 1200h ! Haha I believe it. On NHL23, I did half of 2008-2009. Never finished it. 2013-2014 4-5 teams. The thing is I bought the game on January. I was pissed about no replays, no more horn sounds (typical 3 horn blast in Pittsburgh), and many other stuff so I really played less. Only 380h.
But, NHL24, i’m hyped up, Pre-Ordered, I’ll be starting as fast as I can. Probably going to start with 2009-2010 roster. Then once 650 players are created, at least half of it will be used for the 2013-2014 roster.
@NicCrosby87 I have a plan, that first team, which I create to NHL 24, is Canada's this year Hlinka-Gretzky Cup team. Would be nice create Rendez-vous'87 team to the game, but it all depends on that what alumni players we have use in NHL 24. Also would be nice create Jokerit alumni team to the game. Jokerit is my favourite team and for example Teemu Selänne, Jari Kurri, Tim Thomas and Kari Lehtonen has played in Jokerit, also Erik Karlsson has played 30 games in Jokerit on season 2012-13 . EA Sports added Jokerit logo and jerseys to the NHL 23, but sadly only players which play HUT or EASHL game modes got to enjoy this. This saddened me, because I would've wanted create Jokerit alumni team to the NHL23. Big minus in team creation is very limited a selection of logos, what we can use in team creation. We can only use NHL- and ECHL logos, some historical logos, EA's own made custom logos and letter logos. It's stange, that we can't use AHL logos or European teams logos in the teams creation. We can upload logos to the game in 2K NBA games, this is great and thus we can create our favourite teams to the game , for example Vancouver Grizzlies. This would be awesome add to NHL 24, but we're unlikely to ever get this into game.
I published this alumni players wishlist, before than EA Sports revealed the new alumni players to the NHL 24 game. This list included 85 names and 10 of those names was found on the list, which EA Sports published. Later EA Sports has added Bobby Orr to game.
I dived world of alumni players and found lot of interesting facts. Officially alumni players arrived to NHL 19, but in this post I process time since from NHL20 forward. As we all know, all NHL teams except Vegas and Seattle got their own alumni team to the game in NHL 20. Also three former NHL teams Hartford Whalers, Minnesota North Stars and Quebec Nordiques got their own alumni team to the game.
We have had total 669 players in alumni teams. Of these players EA Sports has remove 13 players from alumni teams and three of these players Kyle Brodziak, Jaromír Jágr and Jason Pominville has been added back to the game. Brodziak not been in NHL 21, but EA Sports added him back to the NHL 22. Jágr not been in NHL 21 and NHL 22, but EA Sports added him back to NHL 23. Pominville not been in NHL 23, but EA Sports added him back to NHL 24. Here is players, which EA Sports has not added back to the alumni teams, after they are removed from alumni teams. In parentheses are the games where the player has been in the alumni teams.
Jason Spezza (NHL 20)
Patric Hörnqvist (NHL 20)
Pavel Datsyuk (NHL 20)
Tyler Weiman (NHL 20 - NHL 21)
Wendell Young (NHL 20 - NHL 21)
Guy Lafleur (NHL 20 - NHL 21)
Ryan Johansen (NHL 20 - NHL 21)
Mike Condon (NHL 20 - NHL 22)
Cam Neely (NHL 20 - NHL 22)
James Neal ( NHL 20 - NHL 23)
These 669 players represent fourteen different nationality. We have players from Austria, Canada, Czechia, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Russia, Slovakia, Switzerland, Sweden, Ukraine and USA on alumni teams. It's strange, that we have alumni players from Lithuania and Ukraine, but not any alumni players from Latvia or Belarus. When we looking NHL players, which come from Latvia, there is names like Artūrs Irbe and Sandis Ozoliņš. Irbe has played 619 games in NHL and Ozoliņš has played 1012 games. The reason may be in licences, why this latvian duo hasn't been yet in the game.
