Be A Pro Automatically Signs A New Contract??

I’ve been playing on the Leafs who are now rebuilding so I decided that when my contract ended I’d switch teams.

Instead, it seems like the game mode automatically signed me to a 3-year contract before July 1st.

Pic 1 is June 24 before the re-sign phase, pic 2 is June 25, first day of the re-sign phase. And all of a sudden I have a new contract.

It’s bad enough that the trade request doesn’t work anymore, but now I can’t sign different contracts??
